    SciFrog:

The 911 cab is the workhorse of the sport car world, only the California comes close in terms of practicality (but bests it on many other factors).

Like you said: A GT3 Cab, they don't even have to call it GT3...maybe GTR or whatever...with the tech from the GT3 would be perfect. 500 n/a horses with a high revving engine, great chassis and brake system, rear seats and so much luggage capacity that you can actually do a one week trip with the car with your wife/girlfriend. Porsche doesn't have the vision for such a car...

It's the GTS. It's just that the GTS should have a GT3 engine!!!

    RC,

Audi does not seem to market the R8 at all. I know that many here believe that I am exaggerating regarding the R8 but I drove so many cars in my life and also owned many and the R8 is one of the rare cars I can imagine keeping forever (unless I would replace it with an updated version or a Huracan Performante, etc.).

Not at all, I actually believe you are really enjoying the car and use it perfectly, if it wasn't the look ( frontage ), I was up for it too. regarding ur luggage, reminds me of 16 days round trip from Toronto to denver in 964. one of the most relaxing drive I've ever done.

Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 Turbo S Exclusive Series (2017)

Give me the "simplicity" of my 964 any day!

This is actually the main reason I still appreciate the 911 (but this works only with the cabriolet and maybe the Targa):

The R8 isn't that bad either (but still miles away from the luggage capacity of the 911 Cab):

    IMG_4431.JPG

This is an amazing picture indeed SmileySmileySmiley

In case of a high speed crash, I'd be very worried to have such heavy suitcases behind the front seats.

If the seat is not resistant enough, and I really doubt it can cope with the weight of a 20kg suitcase launched at high speed, you can imagine the consequences.

Are you sure it's safe to drive like this ?

In a crash, the suitcase placed in the middle and on top of another one will end in your windshield IMHO, if not in place of your head.  Smiley

Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 Turbo S Exclusive Series (2017)

My wife drives the car with the luggage inside the 911 and she certainly doesn't understand the words "high speed". Smiley Smiley The back of the seats are pressing towards the luggage and the content of the luggage is pretty soft (mostly clothing and shoes). Of course, if a truck hits them from the rear but I think that even without the luggage, they would be in serious trouble.  Smiley

No I think it's a case of getting away with the lowest/cheapest denominator possible which will still sell. Would they sell a TONNE of GT3 engined GTSes (coupe and cab)? Of course they would! Would they be a better car and get more accolades? Of course they would! Would they make a larger net profit? Probably with the higher cost of the engines etc... No.

Actually not probably. If it were a yes you would see the GTS with a GT3 engine/suspension/gearbox like we'd like.

There 2 car fit will fit in the front trunk in the McLaren for sure. the other 2 might not it behind the seat on the shelf, actually they don't.

My F12 'might' be able to swallow them all. If I take out the partition.

The 911 fit all 4 on the back seat while the front trunk can still take 2 more car fit luggage. So 6 carry on suitcases.

Well but pimped in the right way... Smiley Not sure this car will make it in the top of the most valuable collector 911 Porsche cars but it could loose little (if any) money indeed.

Because every single limited worldwide production models have become collectors , and this car has enough special parts to make it unique .

No substance in this car. Just like the R. Superficial, over-badged/pimped, nothing interesting from an engineering or performance point of view. Those stripes on a Turbo look ridiculous.

I also believe that the Turbo S Exclusive Series will keep it's value, not sure however it will rise in value, especially with a certain mileage. At least Porsche didn't just put some lipstick on a pig but finally decided to add more value to such a car. Kudos to them. Let's just hope that the next Turbo S model year won't get the extra power as an optional powerkit. Smiley Smiley

Oh, that gold paint, eventually they will release it to PTS, like the Sports Classic Grey to the 918s.

They will do a lock out on the paint, I forgot 3 or 5 years.

I expect that the next Turbo S will make more power than this.  Isn't it supposed to add some hybrid and/or anti-lag technology (maybe 3rd electric turbocharger or other torque-fill from electric motor)?
