Brake "recall" - now in Europe too
Guys, the brake "service action" which has been applied over the past few weeks in the US has finally arrived to Europe too. Only certain cars are affected, owners will be notified by their dealers. If you have a loud squeaking noise coming from your brake, check with your dealer if your VIN number is among the ones affected.
My VIN number is affected, so I'm getting new calipers and new brake pads as soon as I have some spare time to bring my car to the dealer. As far as we know, there is no safety issue involved, it just has to do with a squeaking noise.
Mostly "early" cars are affected, if the last three digits of your VIN number are above 800, you can (almost) be sure that your car isn't affected by this "recall".
