    Need pictures of painted sills

    I am considering having all my lower sills painted body color and was wondering if anyone had pics of the complete package?

    Here's an image of my 997TT with painted rockers. They don't stand out as much because of the black, with your red it should be more pronounced.

    I am worried that the painted sills will make it look too much like a VW Beetle. The wife thinks otherwise - hates the lower black trim

    Not Guards Red but it'll give you an idea of what the painted rocker sills look like.

    I would also paint the rear sill, it would highlight the "3th." side vent, which gets lost when it's black.

    I don't think the TT needs it. the black matches the front air dam and the rear skirt.

    thanks for the pics. I am hoping for a pic of the monochrome on the front chin spoiler still. I think I saw one in white with the whited out grills here which made me physically sick

    I agree. My dealer suggested I order it but with the front and rear valence still black it looks like a mismatch to me.

    It's stupidity that the option does not include front/rears.

    Go without. If you really want it, a top notch shop can do all four sections for less than the factory option after the fact.

    Eclou, Franlky I would not take my brand new TT to body shop to paint. NO WAY JOSE. Too early! Live with it for a while and you might change your mind. We all have tendency to want to chaage or add somthing when we get a new car but it might be better to wait for a while and then decide. The only reaso I ordered mine with all sides painted is to avoid body shop. Everybody is different though. I just hate body shops as you dont know what you will end up with until they are done. I dont care how good they are. Good luck either way. Your car is a beauty. Love Guards Red.

    I was quoted $700 to shoot all the lower panels. They can all be removed off the car and properly done without any risk of overspray and tape lines. I am not all that convinced about it and may leave it for awhile.

    I wouldn't get the front painted, as it would get scratched easily. Just leave it all black. Look fine, to me anyway.

    eclou, are you keeping the tt when your GT3 comes?

    I can't keep both without the realistic possibility of becoming a victim of domestic abuse. Somehow, my wife can put all of her 105lbs into those jabs....

    It's obviously a personal thing but i like the low contrasting line on my gr tt. ....if you do go paint i'd seriously consider getting 3m film applied as it's been my experience that these areas particularily the front and side take pretty good bug and gravel hits in normal road activities.
