Maybe a GT2RS Cabrio?
To be fair, Porsche probably sells more 911's than Lambo, Ferrari and McLaren sell cars put together, so I don't think they are in the mood to market the 911 as a direct competitor to those.
The 911GT2RS was not built with the purpose to compete with them in sales, its production will be limited, it was made as a statement and halo for the 911, it will compete with them in terms of performance.
I think the design fits it very well, while not my cup of tea, its extreme and rough which is what the car is (I agree with the silver not being the right color though). They could have done something with the side intakes like Grant said though, a little effort to make them different and more radical in design IMO would of taken it it of the park.
Another matter is if they go into the high-end mid-engined market with the 960 but no sense with the 911 which is the most successful in sportscar history and selling more with each generation.
