A rough estimate: probably as long as the 599GTB needs for 0-300kph
P.S.: The Z06 again failed to reach the claimed top-speed of 320kph (2nd time now...).

Regarding the Z06 997TT match forget it. The Z06 is a faster car. That ship has sailed. Also, the Ford GT is faster.
The 997GT2 would be a better match for the Z06 and Ford GT.

Is this the only test you want to refer to?
If so, the 1/4 mile test clearly shows which car is faster. If you want to use track performance, name the track and test which shows the 997TT beat the Z06.
BTW, if the numbers on the 599 are correct, I believe it will beat the CGT. Simply amazing for a $270,000 GT car.

Nick, you are talking nonsense! The numbers are there for all to see. The Turbo is a second faster to 300 km/h than the Z06, despite being almost 2 seconds slower to 250.
Markus' analysis is perfectly correct - the Turbo is faster in the lower speed range, the Corvette is faster in between, from 160 to 250 km/h and the Turbo reels it back in at the top. What's so hard to understand?

I have seen various tests of Z06 and 997TT on tracks. In some cases the Z06 was quicker in other the 997TT was quicker.
The above is the only high-speed test available of both cars to date. In this test, the 997TT is quicker in some speed ranges, the Z06 is quicker in other...
The conclusion: Both cars are in the same league (as far as performance is concerned). No other conclusion is possible

If you are only viewing 0-62 as an indicator of perf. I would agreeed with you. AWD has an advantage over RWD. However, in every other measurement, the Z06 is the faster car. The TT does not reach the top speed of the Z06 though it gets to its top speed sooner. Other than these magazine test, I am not aware of anyone serious racing their cars at those top speeds.
On the street and track the Z06 is faster. Whatever happened to the Ring times for the 997TT? All Porsche's cut their teeth on the Ring and I believe the Z06 was close to six seconds faster than the TT. Additional, I am not aware of any track time where the 997TT beat the Z06. God knows there have been many excuses for the 997TT but the bottom line is the Z06 is faster and on that there is ABSOLUTELY NO DISPUTE!

I think I am a bit lost. Although the AMS test is in German the numbers do speak an international language...
Just look at the 0-300 numbers of Z06 and 997TT. Can you see the difference in favour of the 997TT

It seems Nick doesn't realize what a minute difference 5 km/h makes. Even if it reached top speed in the same amount of time as the 997TT does, it would take ages to get away from the Turbo. As for not racing to 300 km/h, Markus, this guy only uses the Ferrari for burnouts on the beach, or so it seems. US roads are meant for soccer mom and lawyer transportation, not any kind of performance driving

In the crazy US market , you can buy a year old used C6 Z06 for about the price of a bare bones, no options Boxster S . If you want a 599 TODAY ( i.e., not on the MSRP wait list ) , expect to pay about 7- 8 times that price . The difference puts a used Carrera GT in your garage also !

Us Europeans don't go for Ponzi schemes that Ferrari is running in the US, so cars here are usually sold at MSRP
. If price worries you, then Porsche and Ferrari definitely aren't the cars for you .
