This was my first trip to the Tail of the Dragon. The road was perfect for PASM Sport setting...no rough spots, bumps, or bouncing areas. The road was almost deserted Monday so I could play a little with PSM off. There are curved sections where you can see way ahead and safely get the rear out without worrying about oncoming traffic. The road really is wonderful for aggressive driving with the exception of one curve that caught me off guard. Going from TN to NC there is a left turn that also has a crest that gets the car light and you loose grip at all four tires. Maybe you could hit it a little differently to overcome this but I only tried it once. I didn't notice it going the other direction.
My round trip was 400 miles and from NE GA, if you go up 129, you'll probably prefer the curves on a section still in GA only about 30 min north of Gainesville. The passing lanes here make it fun even when there's traffic...the kind that would slow you down on the Dragon.
BTW...The cheeseburgers at Deal's Gap are unexpectedly incredible!
Lets make sure us Southeasterners let each other know of plans to drive the Tail or Blue Ridge Pkwy. this fall. Haku, I'm sure I'll go again in November. ADias, I stayed mostly in 2nd & 3rd and never looked at the speedo...sorry.
