After a year of watching prices drop, I bought a 2005 in silver with a dark grey interior with 1800 mi. I sold my challenge stradale the day before. I must be a loyal Porsche customer because I still have my 996 GT2 and a Cayene S. The car is awesome. Anyone thinking a 430 is in the same league, "wake up". Its crazy to me that someone would pay about the same price I paid for a 430 spider in the USA. The sound is great but I would like it even louder. Anyone know any options?

That's a great shot!!! The red really shows off the beautiful lines of that CGT The biggest "attendant problems" is having F430 spider drivers envy your car

Many congrats! I'm sure I speak for many when I say that a lot of people would love to be in your position!! Many people (me included) can only just stretch to buying a 911.
After reading your post, I looked on the Porsche USA used car locator just out of curiosity. Last night, it said there were 8 Carrera GTs for sale in the USA all in the USD350k to USD425k range.

Pioneer Porsche in San Diego has a black one for $339,000 and I suspect they will take less.
As to whether I can afford it is irrelevant. If they dropped the price to $275,000, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. The car is radioactive.

$339,000 ???
LOL! You cant even get a naked 997 here in DK for that!
And it's 25000 more than I have to pay for a new 987s!!!
You guys are luckier than you know.
Get the car, Nick! And drive it with that pole! Just shorten it a bit....

Even if for some insane reason I wanted the car, I would wait another 6 months to a year. Though I predicted otherwise, I suspect this car will be selling around $250,000 after that time.

I suspect by the time you are 95 years old, the car's value will have trully plateau'd out to about $212,136.52 (adjusted for inflation, the 2036 collapse of finance based economies, World War III against the space invaders and the return of King George Bush IV), at which point you can pick one up.
