    2017 Nürburgring 24h

    Poor showing from Porsche this year at the N24, but what a brilliant race. Tropical sunshine all weekend, and then for the last 30 mins of the race, heavy showers. You couldn't have scripted it better if you wanted to.

    I had the pleasure as well to meet Kobalt trackside, great to see you! Smiley

    Funny enough: It took an hour to finally meet even though we actually was just 20 meters from each other  mail.

    Me and my friend had the good luck to be able to watch the last three hours of the race in Rowes VIP lounge. 
    Rowe is the team that came second in the race.

    The lounge is located exactly above the finish line, 5 or 6 floors above the boxes. So we had both TV and real live.

    You can imagine the reaction in the lounge when the Rowe BMW overtook the Audi and secured the 2nd place 

    It was intense.

    Picture is 90 minutes before race ended. Hard to tell that there will be rain later.

    In the picture you can see where the diesel powered cars did their pitstops.

    On a side note: N24 is one of few races where the teams are allowed to change drivers and work on the car at the same time as the fill the cars up with fuel. I suppose one reason for this is that they are using normal fuel pumps as in a petrol station. No fuel rigs are allowed. So refueling takes long time and is therefor probably even a more important part then in other races. Even a splash and dash takes it time.

    For trackside atmosphere, this race is really second to none. Unbelievable how passionate the fans there are.

    Me too, falling asleep listening to the cars driving by on Döttinge Höhe.

    But first I rode the bicycle from Nürburg to Adenau and back. Fun and interesting in the dark.
