997 Options

Kindly require answers to the following:

- Is deviating stitching available ? What is the cost ?
I am ordering a speed yellow turbo with black interior and
would like to order yellow stitching.

- Is it possible to order the standard brakes with yellow
painted calipers ?

- Can the turbo wheels be ordered painted black ?

Had already placed the order for my car in Slate Grey with Terracotta interior. Build is scheduled for mid November.
Now I am seriously thinking of changing the colour to Yellow/Black. My Cayenne Turbo is Titanium Grey so thought I'd spice up the 997 Turbo.

Any input appreciated.......

Code XD9 wheels painted in body colour.
Code XSY seat belts in speed yellow.
Code XFH dials in speed yellow.
Code CFX floor mats in interior black with speed yellow trim.
Code unknown but certainly available through Porsche Exclusives program-all interior stitching in speed yellow.

Changing from slate grey to yellow is quite a change!

Anyway I would go for yellow because of the following reasons:

1) You've already got a grey P-car.

2) The turbo is a sportscar and a sportscar can wear a "loud" colour.

3) 997tt looks gorgeous in yellow!

Yellow stitching should now be available, as it wasn't when RC got his (very early) turbo and as you can order rims painted in body colour, it should be possible to order rims painted in black for a non-black car also.
Concernig yellow calipers with the standard brakes instead of the red ones, I read somewhere that it was possible at the 996 for a ridiculous high price but that it's not available for the 997 so far.

Yes,...stitching is definitely available now. Not going to list pricing because they're for the US not Egypt.

Options code are:

24891 Stitching F/R seats - Dev. Color
24901 Dashboard Stitching - Dev. Color
24902 Door Stitching in Dev. Color
24903 Door Handle Stitching Dev Clr
24904 Dev Stitching Side Center Console
24905 Rear Side Panel Dev. Stitching

You can even get leathers in deviated colors too:

24921 Upper dash deviating color
24951 Deviating carpet
25221 Roofliner dev. color alcantara
25231 Front seat inlay alcantara dev. color
25461 A/B/C pillars in standard leather
25491 F/R seat inlay in dev. color
25631 Door trim in deviating color
25731 Upper dash w/sport chrono dev. color

And then as for the wheels..on the inside of the wheel and the sides of the spokes are painted, not the entire wheel. The front are still chrome finished. I just thought that should be cleared up.

But prepare yourself to be charged a high premium, as coloured stitching is one of the few extras you can get way cheaper at Ferrari than at Porsche.

Tell me about it! Porsche charges $2280 USD just for all the stitching options! Definitely overpriced if you ask me!

At Ferrari they charge you a mere 260 Euro for the standard coloured stitching or 325 Euro for thicker coloured stitching. Still enough if you think that it is just for a different piece of cloth as Jeremy Clarkson once said, but rather cheap in comparision to Porsche.

But then you pay twice as much for the carbon brakes at the Italians, what puts the whole price system into perspective again.

Somethings you can understand the extra cost for - more parts, more expensive parts, leather rather than plastic. Or a change to a high-speed assembly process which slows down the entire line. But picking up the yellow thread rather than the brown thread before stiching the seams on the dashboard ... hard to swallow.

Some more perspectives.....P will forget to incl deviated stitching on handbrake and shifter unless one has an upgraded, Exclusive ?$800 optional shifter/handbrake....and incl some 5 option codes and spend $2500 for stitching, for which one may receive $1 on trade-in.....part of the $50K one-yr deprec of a well-spec'd $150K 997TT

In US, one can spec 599/430 w/$50K in allegedly overpriced options like CCM, cf, airshipping, etc....drive the leased car for 6-12 mos and some 5K mis and give scuffed-up, obsolete, used F back to dealer for new MSRP; and rcv another new, loaded, latest-gen F w/"overpriced" options to repeat the process (and build one's frequent, repeat F buyer status).....so which co. charges more for options????

The deviated stitching would be hot but imo put the money towards PCCB's instead. Obviously since you're asking about changing the steel brake calipers to yellow, you don't like red calipers on a yellow car either. Yellow PCCB's on your yellow turbo would make the car and you wouldn't have to worry about Porsche screwing up the dev stitch which is a 50/50 shot they would. Yellow turbo. PCCB's. black mats with yellow border - that's hot. lol!!

Absolutely agree with STRADALE (as always

). Better stay away from overpriced and useless options and save some money to spend it for some great technology as CCM for example.

Full wheel paint body colour is an Exclusives Option as per White TT post.

Are you sure about that? I asked the folks at Porsche themselves when I was there last May about "full wheel paint" and they told me about the spokes/insides being available only. I haven't heard otherwise yet.

hey guys,

who says anybody prefers looks over performance ???
i guess everybody here who buys ordered a car specced it to his liking ? right ?
i am not a racer and will not track my car and therefore the stopping power of the steel brakes is sufficient for me.

why should i spend another 8000 euro for an option i can do without ? if yellow painted calipers are available, then why should i not go for it ?????
