    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

    RC:
    Carlos from Spain:

I absolutely love it in the GTS as well, much prefer it over leather and in previous 911's I I have always went for full optional leather inside, but alcantara feels and looks so much better IMO...

Leather is and feels a bit too elegant... When I enter my R8, I feel luxury. When I enter my 991 GTS, I fell sportiness. I know this may be a weird feeling but the Alcantara plays a huge role in that.

Agree, alcantara is more sportive and raw, I also prefer it to leather in a sports car. GTS is a good example of that.

Guess I have to spoil this love fest indecision  I really only found the Alcantara wheel and shifter in my GT4 worked well when wearing gloves (otherwise more slippery than leather).

BTW, these gloves hold the Alcantara incredibly well (and keep the Alcantara in perfect condition):

I'll be getting leather on my GT3 instead...

Grant, you would give up the center stripe?indecision

all my previous sport cars have had leather steering wheel. This time I will try alcantara. I am in the camp that believes it's a sportier look and feel.

Yeah the material on the fingers and palm (of the Tide Model) grip the Alcantara like Velcro (but they release easily, unlike Velcro) - pretty remarkable...

Does anyone have any further confirmation about the Touring Edition? It's been silent for a while. The last posting was from RC, indicating that two sources had confirmed it. Have talked to my dealership and they claim that they haven't heard anything about it.

Have you read my post about a rumored Sept. 2017 availability?

Details seem conflicting (PDK and MT, only MT), rear seats yes/no depending on source, and RC you are always careful with your words, and you said "rumored Sept 2017 availability" which taken together suugests Touring Package isn't a certainty.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3

Just visited my dealer today and they actually only taking binding orders for the car anymore, at least in Switzerland. I get a car for 2018 and have their only PTS slot promised as I raised my interest already many times and also in witing. Now only the touring package needs to be confirmed. If not I will not take it.

Yes, I'll have to find the scenic route to the Eifel region Smiley  Supposedly comes with a 90-minute track session on factory track (where you drive one of Porsche's fleet cars), so that should help with getting a little speed without stressing out my own car from new...

Not sure - hopefully soon.  The Euro Delivery organizer is trying to schedule the build as early as possible to fit the window of available Manuals and the end of decent weather...
