Here is a french review of the turbo...
For the non french speaker just listen to the sound of the flat 6 in the begining and in the middle

    Enjoy

    huh? doesn't sound like mine

Are we not sure that they didn't put another Porsche's sound track over the video - either that or the 997tt sounds alot better outside than it does inside the cabin

Re: huh? doesn't sound like mine

You are right, it sounds much better outside. I had a friend drive behind me in his boxster S and he said when the TT accelerates in front of him it was so loud he could no longer hear his own car accelerate. still, very disappointing inside....

Why would they put another sound track? I do not understand why you say that.

It just sounds like that - the car is completely run in and this car has been used by all journalists for testing.

Just open the window to hear the engine sound track. That all it takes.

Re: huh? doesn't sound like mine

I tested the 997tt two months ago with open windows and open roof, and above 3000rpm that was exactly the sound I remember.

So you have actually both: Closed windows : Bose sound, Open windows : see above.

I confirm that the Turbo sounds very loud from the outside and is sadly a bit too quiet from the inside.

What tipped you off? J/K. I am sure our wives/girlfriends have learned to cope or accept (for the most part) our insane "auto-fixations." I know mine has, the other day she pointed to a 993 Carrera! I was so amazed that she actually listens when I ramble on and on about autos. There is a petrolhead inside her waiting to come out, I know it!

Re: huh? doesn't sound like mine

The TT sounds amazing by the way.

    997TT

I'm perfectly happy with the sound of the TT, perfect for city driving.

    Re: 997TT

This is why you need to get a Cab ... the sound of the car is awesome, but it's now a lux car, so the soundproofing is also awesome.

One of my favorite moments is when I start the C2S Cab up in my garage with the top down ... the engine is beautiful to hear.

Nope. Wife, 2 kids, 1 Porsche, 1 dog. Very typical. <Sigh>

I think the only person which understood why I made this comment is Atomic80.
I have a turbo on order and am also married.
But the constant whining about the turbo being too quite made me write that. I prefer to have a quite car and a happy wife compared to a loud car and an upset wife because of too much noise.
Hence my comment "you must all be single"
    Thank you and best regards

Re: huh? doesn't sound like mine

    I get it now:

    quiet car = quiet wife

    loud car = loud wife

    You got it !

Re: huh? doesn't sound like mine

same here: wife, 2 kids, 3 porsches one of them with a loud GHL and she loves it. She also likes the TT's not so loud sound but I am still getting an exhaust later .

Thanks for clarifying as I did not get it the first time.
Wife, 1 daughter, and my wife pregnant, 1 dog...and 1 porsche and pretty soon another 1

Re: huh? doesn't sound like mine

    wow.
Sounds ferocious. Better than GT3 I'd even say....
This car just gets more and more appealing to me by the week
