    Re: Panamera shows up again

Lets hope its just testing a platform brcause in this view it looks like one of the cross over vehicles that are a mix of SUV and sedan. BIG, UGLY, BLOB.

    Re: Panamera shows up again

In the rear view picture it seems as if they'll incorporate Cayman's hatchback window to save money.

If you pay attention the rear window is Cayman's hatchback.

    Re: Panamera shows up again

If that isn't a test mule, heaven help them!

    Well said!

    Re: Panamera shows up again

Let's hope this is a high-spec Lexus GS test mule with fake Porsche design cues to throw us all off . Uggh !

look closely at the B and C pillars

the real car is dark blue or black
the lighter blue is all camouflage, especially in the rear glass, where blue electrical tape further obscures the lines (the fake window does appear to be shaped like the cayman)
there are likely test mules that are built with BMW/Merc sedan bodies driving around too (even 928 is possible)
when i visited the Merc factory in October 2001, i saw what looked to be an S-Class wagon with camouflage that was likely a Maybach test mule

    aloha

    steve

Re: look closely at the B and C pillars

If Maserati (Quattroporte) and Mercedes (CLS) can make a beautiful coupelike 4door, so can porsche and they can do it better.

Don't let the camo put down your hopes, this is going to be an amazing car, remember the official sketch that was released!

Re: look closely at the B and C pillars

I like the way it looks in the rear shot Hopefully it will look great when camo is gone...

Re: look closely at the B and C pillars

Check out the headlights. Definitely from the CGT.

Re: look closely at the B and C pillars

Still strange looking, but much better than the first picture that showed up a couple of days ago. They really must control what pictures come out to the open, since the first one was definitely FUGLY, generating terrible reactions, they "allowed" a few more to show up (remember the 997TT?).

Is that a tiptronic gearknob inside? Looks like it.
BTW, strange to see that the brake calipers are on the "wrong side of the wheel", ie, front in the front wheels and back on the rear wheels, thus damaging the wheight distribution...

They can't control this pictures because simply they don't come out from Porsche or with Porsche's approval or what ever. This are spy pictures taken without even Porsche knowing that somebody has made them. And the camouflage is there because at this moment Porsche does not want to show more than what you see. And if we have a negative reaction is because at least in the very first picture the car was really ugly and not inspiring the excitement a car like this should bring....

And if you look to the position of the brake calipers on the Cayenne you will see that there the calipers are on different positions also front on the front of discs and rear on the front of discs.... so I don't think that they are damaging the weight distribution.

Re: look closely at the B and C pillars

Maybe i used the wrong expression: i wouldn't say controled, but maybe eased up a bit. Since the first pic was bad and on a open road, Porsche made the job easier for photographers so that nicer pics would arrive (this case on the N'Ring).
The same happened with the 997TT, when most people said "it wasn't good enough" when the first pics arrived.

    Re: Panamera shows up again

They plan to sell 20,000 annually. With that number, I am no longer interested. I will look elsewhere. I am sure Porsche will be disappointed.

    Re: Panamera shows up again

    Looks very promising to me

Some things that excite me and already show some elements of the design. First there is (1), which nicely shows CGT like headlights but with a little indent from this view, which I have seen or believe we will see with the facelifted Cayenne!

Second (2) there is the front bumper air inlets which due functional reasons had to be existing already. Note how you can see a similar TT bumper, with LED side indicators.

Then there is the short overhang (3) which makes it look very sporty and elegant OMG.

The roof line(4) looks production ready and the angles is just right OMG as well..

Also there is the rear window (5) which when looking at closely does indend alot more than first seen. Kind of reminds me of the 911 rear where it goes towards the center, if you know what i mean. The whole rear at the window base is faked and looks much more sharp then the acutal lines. which also reflects on the other side of the roof panel near the end. This looks very odd at the moment.
I think the linal lines will be much more Cayman like but still allowing for luggage space. This seems to have worked for the Cayman so why not also for the Panamera?

As for the side line, it is still under heavy camo.

Lastly, the rear wing will be something speacial i think. It seems like it comes in and out or whatever, it is not fixed. Maybe some kind of CGT like style will be seen here, which is much appreciated!

Thanks guys, im cannot wait to see further modules of this beauty. I will post first impression sketches as soon as possible!

    Re: Panamera shows up again

The rear... I hope it'll look way more aggressive!

    Re: Panamera shows up again

The rear spoiler looks like a perfect accessory for those people who don't like to transport their "pets" inside their cars

    Re: Panamera shows up again

It looks a little better after a quick retouch (though I'm a hack when it comes to this stuff...)

    Re: Panamera shows up again

    Here's a shot of the 1988 (!) 989 concept that I've never seen before...
