    Finally placed order today

In Summer I asked a couple of questions about different options here on the board and kept reading all over your comments. Today I finally did it! I placed an order for the following:

    Carrera 4S
    Basalt black metallic
    Bi-color full leather black/sandbeige
    Wheel caps in color
    Grey strip on windshield
    Parking sensors
    19" Carrera Classic wheels
    Sport Chrono
    Auto-dimming mirrors, rain sensor
    Seat heating
    Sport steering wheel
    Cruise control
    Navigation
    BOSE
    PSE
    Short shifter
Porsche emblems on seat head rest
    Center console in leather
    RDK
    Black colored dials

Now the long wait starts. Delivery expected in Jan 2007.

Thank you all for your help!

    Re: Finally placed order today

    Nice spec !
    No sunroof or rear wiper

    Re: Finally placed order today

    Thanks!

I have still not decided on the sun roof. The dealer I had till October to make up my mind. Just do not know yet if its worth the money...

I do not like the rear wiper. Based on people's experience here it is not necessary thanks to the aerodynamics.

    Re: Finally placed order today

    Great specs...
    All looks good to me

Sunroof and rear wiper is a big no no to me ! Keep up the faith

    Re: Finally placed order today

Unless you really want the sunroof I would suggest forgoing it. Here, in the US, we, unfortunately, don't have a choice on the sunroof - all 911's come with it. Since the sunroof is so small, I feel that it doens't adequately enhance the driving experience and therefore isn't worth the compromise it necessitates in regards to weight and aesthetics. I figure if you want a Sunroof get the Targa, at least that way you're getting a massive Panorama effect.

    My thoughts exactly !

    Re: Finally placed order today

Thanks for the support to go with no sunroof. I was only a bit concerned re:two things:
    1) Resale value. Seems to me that most go with a sunroof even though my dealer was not supportive of this observation.
    2) I had the car for a test drive for a whole day and clocked few hundred km in that day and I got the feeling that the airflow is not very high so I though the sunroof could help with ventilation...

Did any of you go with the std seats but with the power seat option? I can't go with sport seats or adaptive as I am a bit bigger and the adaptive seats in the test drive car where too narrow on the seat itself even though a opened it as much as a could. Std. seats are much better for me.

    Re: Finally placed order today

Congratulations. Nice selection on options. I love the sunroof in the summer months. I am glad you added the PSE, I am sorry I did not order mine with it. I use the Dunlop M3 wintersports in the winter, and drive it everyday (a real champ in the snow). Lastly, I have the power seats and love the memory option for different drivers.

    Re: Finally placed order today

Thanks. Once I heard the PSE sound I was sold... If you really regret it I understand you can add it afterwards.

    Re: Finally placed order today

nice specs . What is Grey strip on windshield?

    Re: Finally placed order today

Hi, and a great set of specifications. Enjoy!

I ordered the power seat option (without upgrading the seat) for several resons: almost infinite fore-aft positioning vs. detents on regular seats. Up and down motion is easier, as compared to the pump action. Availability of memory (drivers side only) for seat AND outside mirrors.

I'm 6' 0" and average build, and cannot answer your other question about the narrowness of the seat.

    Re: Finally placed order today

The code of the strip is 567. It is a strip of dark grey tinted glass to reduce sun rays. Sorry... do not know the right name. It is approx. a 100 USD option.

    Re: Finally placed order today

    Nice spec.

BTW, I love my sunroof. Use it all the time especially nice to keep open to the sound of the PSE. I know there are some who may not like the sunroof option but for me its one that I use the most.

    You'll love the PSE.

Congrats and remember that the waiting is part of the experience!

I agree! I use my sunroof everyday and I think the PSE sounds even better with the sunroof open.

    Re: Finally placed order today

I have standard seats with power/heater in my C2S Cab. The power is useful, even though I'm the only driver. I find that I prefer it slightly closer when I'm shifting a lot and slightly further back on the highway. In my old Boxster it was a pain to adjust manually, and I rarely did it. In the C2S, I find myself doing it all the time and it's great. I'm about 196 at 5'10" and the seats feel narrow but comfortable. They are definitely not lounge chairs like a large sedan or SUV.

    Re: Finally placed order today

Thanks for all the inputs. Today I spoke to my dealer and I am close to doing the following "small" changes to my spec:
    - I will add the RDK (forgot it originally)
    - I will probably change the sport steering wheel for the "fat" steering wheel (code XPA)
    - I will add the power seats
    - I will probably go for the sunroof (some people have told me that they have some funny noises coming from the sunroof when closed so this is still making me hesitate)
    - finally I will most probably ask for black colored dials, but currently have been told the sport chrono clock remains silver...

I have got still few weeks to play around with the spec

Finally I will try to sort out something for my daughter in the back seat. During the test drive if she sat on a booster her head was way above the back rest and that did not make me comfortable and if she sat without the booster the seatbelt would not be right height wise... maybe I too picky, but just want to be sure she will be safe when she drives with me. I guess I have till January to come with something. Any experiences? (the search I did on the forum came up with posts mainly for smaller kids).

    Re: Finally placed order today

PSE is being installed today! Can't wait to to hear my new toy.
