Dymag Carbon Wheels

I saw these at the Callaway tent in Carlisle. Callaway is an official importer of the wheels. For those trying to remove weight, this is the way to go. I picked up a 20x12.5 and it weighed only 14Lbs (6.35kg)!!!! They cost $2000 each. For comparison, a similarly sized HRE weighs about 29lbs (13.15kg) or twice as much. The HRE are also similar in price. The center is Magnesium and you can get the center any color you want.
They're now used in the Koenisegg CCX.

Are there any concerns about sudden failure with a wheel of thing kind, or any other performance issue vs. top quality forged wheel?

Just wondering if there are any other benefits to this kind of wheel other than weight.

When I spoke to the Callaway rep. He said that they are actually more resillient than you think. They'll take a good bump etc. You can also just replace the rim if need be (no price on that available at this time). They've been making carbon wheels for motorcycles for years.
Also, don't forget that the CGT and the Enzo along with F1 cars are made ENTIRELY of carbon fiber. Even suspension pieces are made from carbon fiber on an F1 car. It's very safe and very strong. An F1 car will survive a crash much better than any road car also.
