    Have you ever noticed ?

I have noticed a height gap difference between the left and the right side of the car, 1.1 cm higher for the back right and some .6 cm from the front right . I went to my dealer and worked on it. After a couple of days, they called me to get back my car work done under warranty. They told me that it was some kind of body adjustment and that even new cars with 0 mileage would have some kind of gap margin up to 4 mm, it would be normal . Did you ever measure it just to have an idea? Would be kind enough if you get back with some feedbacks.

Re: Have you ever noticed ?

Could be an alignment issue, or may be due to the fact that the suspension isn't fully broken in.

Generally takes about 1000~ miles for everything to settle.

Did you check yours? interesting to verify...

Re: Have you ever noticed ?

Never measured it, but have noticed it on my 997 and previously on my 986S. Also noticed more heat emission from the right side of the car than the left when in the garage, following engine shut off after a hard ride.

Re: Have you ever noticed ?

The E36 BMW M3 was always set up lower on the right side (5-6mm from recollection) to compensate for the weight of the driver on the left side. Trouble was, this stayed the same when the steering wheel was on the right for UK markets, so the poor old driver was about 10mm lower than the passenger side by this time

Re: Have you ever noticed ?

Keep in mind that these are just cars. I used to see up to a 4 inch difference in our fleet of aircraft! We couldn't just go order 34 sets of carpeting for our aircraft, as some ofthe carpet sets would have been too long, and others two short. Manufacturing is not an exact science. Years ago the 911 was infamous for having their front left wheel wells closer to the outer side of the tire than the right front tire. It was that way for decades.

Re: Have you ever noticed ?

Did you take your measurements with a full tank of gas, or empty??

Is it possible that you're a bit "hefty", and you've squashed your springs on the driver's side?? (Just kidding of course...)

I'm assuming that you're using the standard application of RH and LH being determined as you sit in the car..

    hey!! I'm only 72 kg .

Basically, the height prob. was a factory build defect... The tank was @ half I guess...

Re: Have you ever noticed ?

Mine are EXACTLY the same on each side.
From the floor to the underside of the wheel well , rear is 27.45 inches, and front 26.75 inches .
    ( The tank is ~ 1/2 full . Rear tires at 40 psi, front at 33.5 )
Since I apparently have a (1 in 1000 ) superior example, I will sell it for $ 5000 above MSR price. Lol

Re: Have you ever noticed ?

Glad I'm not the only one who checks things like this! My last car was off by a considerable amount.

Hope the Pcar is even- I'll know soon enough!

Okay then, I'll need to bring a tape measure to my PPI....

Do you think we have to consult a psychiatrist

Re: Have you ever noticed ?

I'm totally with you. I really hate to see this. Happened to my M3 last time.
It's all gotta do with the suspension. Get OPC to change a complete new set for you. It'll irritate you each time you look at the car finding one side or front/rear lower than one another.

Definitely get it sorted out or you'll live thinking of it every single day. Best wishes. Alternatively go for a height adjustable like someone mentioned.

Re: Have you ever noticed ?

    Just measured mine. No difference.
