997 Allocation full

I guess as much as some of us say they won't buy the new 997 their allocation seems to be full.

I talked to one of the 2 dealership in Houston and my sales guy notified me that they're not taking any deposit on the upcoming 997 at this time.

He claimed that their allocation for the first year is already sold out and they're not allowed to take anymore deposit per PCNA instruction.

Also Continental Tire company has developed a new ContiSportContact 2 Vmax that withstands speeds up to 360 kph (223 mph). They're exclusively designed for high performance cars such as Porsche and Ferrari. They're shipping 235/35ZR 19 XL and 315/25ZR 19 to Porsche already.

So after all we have some surprises from Porsche in Paris regarding the 997 HP

Someone is pulling your chain. PCNA has not made any announcements to dealers in regards to any 997, infact their stance on spyshots is that they are not accurate, and not to be believed and are largely incorrect.
They don't want to grenade the sales of existing inventory.
You can still walk into a dealership and "order" an '04.
As far as an '05 they are clueless

Could it be they don't want you to consider a 997 so they can sell you a 996?!

I doubt it. I already have a 996 so I don't think that would be the intention.

When was the last time Porsche EVER sold out their first year allocation of new 911s - much less before they were officially even announced? It's horsecrap. PCNA may in fact have banned further deposit taking (kinda odd though given they usually act like everything is in the dealer's hands) - in an attempt to move 996s.

That's about what I would expect from both Houston dealers (both sales departments are equally inept IMO), maybe that's why PCNA wants another dealer in town. I have no problem buying another 911 from Champion Porsche in Florida again.

I hope they'll open up another one soon. Both dealers are monopolizing the market big time.

It's my understanding Porsche has not even allocated one 997 yet for North America according to my local GM. And he is not trying to sell me a 996.

I sold Porsches for over 20 yrs, just retired. What he told you was rookie BS. There are many dealers that will take your deposit and get you one of the first cars. I worked with REVV on this site just call him up and he will get you a 997.

U guys are probably right. After thinking about it how the hell would he know what's their allocation that is sold out.

I am happy with my 996, I'll wait for the 997TT if the economy allows

I will be happy to give you any FACTUAL information regarding
997, as it become available to me. I will say though, if you really want an early Coupe, Cab or S Version; a reservation
would be helpful for this model. I have a very strong feeling; this is going to be a good one ! Revvv @ Champion Porsche
