R8 with V12 diesel too?

There are rumors that Audi will introduce 5.5 liter V12 TDI engine into R8, after their LeMans win with diesel powered car

Audi could introduce V12 TDI in A8 in next two years but, NOT(!!!) in R8.
Some people are forgetting that 5.5L V12TDI weights about 300kg(!!) and is simply way too big for R8 mid-engine layout. Audi is currently working on lighter version of same 5.5L V12TDI with about 400hp/840Nm with Tiptronic autobox of course.
But, NO diesel engine in R8 sportscar.

Ups, on Messenger we have talked about R8 and someone put this link in that chat, and I didnt read correctly that this news is about A8 and not R8.

Sorry for spreading wrong informations

And your point is logical, 300 kg heavy engine cant be in R8...

Again, NO V12 diesel engine in R8 sportscar! Engine that big simply do not fit in R8 engine bay!

No, I don't believe everything I read, ... anywhere (here included).

I guess Hr. Winterkorn must be milking that publicity cow called the R10 race car. Teasing reporters with his answers to "what if?" type questions is probably just part of his job.
