FINALLY FOUND IT
I finally made the jump.
I sold my 986S in May, a masochistic move which left me without a Porsche during the sunny days. But I sold it for a good price...so...
It took me so much time to find something else, or to be clear, to define the requirements for that something.
So before I introduce the new family member, let me just describe the selection process.
I have a BMW 330xi for winter so 4WD is not required and I don't like 4WD anyway.
But still, my first choice was still to look at a 996 4S since I absolutely love the look of that car. I have not driven this car, but my concern here was around the weight, the steering and the old style interior quite similar to that of my boxster. So I was not too convinced about that option.
This is when Porsche announced the 987S 3.4. A jump good enough from the car I just sold...but then, I knew I would still want a Carrera. At that point, I presented my business case to the ministry of finance who loved the idea of having the seats which we were missing at times in the Boxster...but then told me to get a Carrera cab. I like cabs, but in Porsche range, I only like the Boxster...We then compromised on a Carrera with a sunroof.
So then I started to look at second hand 997s. On top of my "sunroof-compromise", I was really looking for: PSE, short shifter, and sport chassis. I was even considering base 997, but thinking sport chassis needs 19" anyway, that I it needs Xenon and the sport chassis is an option at cost, it made not much sense to get a base.
After 2 months of research, I finally found it!!!!
So here are the specs
05 997 C2S seal grey/black
-20mm LSD
PSE
Full leather/adaptative sport seats
Short shifter
Nav/GSM/Bose/CD changer
Will get it at the beginning of October
