Testmule seems correct to me.
But have a close look at the air intakes at the side: there is a new big air intake at the bottom and the upper air intake looks different too. In the other scan you could even see, that the upper air intake seems to be taped and that its shape originally is longitudinal, begins under the triangle window and reaches well into the back fender.
I also see some changes at the front, but the bumper looks the same.

Yes it is one of the first mules of the new Ferrari. It's testing the new engineparts. I got the complete article and there is a second photo of the engine. It's full of computerwires and the air intake is silver and not red.
A friend of my who was in Maranello last week (test of F1 Minardi with Bas Leinders) told me that he saw a few modena's with enginedevelopment materials on board.
So we have to wait till they come with the exterior mules. For the enzo it was the same story. They started with a stretched 348 for engine development and then came the black mule in which you could see the final design.

I almost missed that! I got so bored with the all the badly-aimed and out of range flak being shot at RC that I stopped following this thread.
Seriously though, Ferrari could do much worse than scale up a Lotus Elise when developing a new Modena. Scale up power
, scale up number of cylinders 
, scale up size only as much as necessary . They'd have to be careful about scaling up weight though, otherwise it could end up being an AMG instead of sportscar, right Bilal? fritz

I think you are on to something my friend. Unfortunately, there's no real demand from the Ferrari contigent to build an ultra lightweight vehicle and thus they don't really build one for road use. There's no doubting the performance of the current models, but still there's a certain aspect of buyers that always focus on horespower. Why do you need 500 hp (Gallardo for example) to begin with, if you had just designed a less heavy car to begin? What would the public say if a modern Ferrari had only 300hp?
I love to see cars like Grant's RS replica. Those kind of things really make me salivate.
Maybe if there was more racing like in days gone by...Targa Florio, Mille Miglia, etc...Anyway, I'm probably blowing this out of proportion. I wouldn't complain too much over Porsche's current GT series offerings.

Sorry guys, my mistake. I read through before I registered, that's why I couldn't see the pictures posted and thought no one has posted that pic yet. Silly me.
Anyway, saw this on another forum. Hope this is not true..
"I was present at the Australian launch of the 612 a couple of weeks ago, and the invitation said that a couple of people from ferrari management were going to attend the launch. As it turned out we were told that they were occupied by something else at the time, but that they had flown out from Italy.
Then at the Melbourne Motorshow I was chatting to the ferrari rep., who is the main salesperson for Ferrari in Victoria, and he informed me that the 360 replacement project had recently been presented to Ferrari management, but that the decision had been made to cancel the project, and that the facelift had been cancelled as well. The reason is apparently that they do not think a change neccessary to the model, such as it is amazing already. The connection with the people who were meant to be at the Ferrari launch is that, although I was not told directly, the Ferrari rep. implied that another reason that these figrues from management had flown out of Italy was not just for the 612 launch, but to officially inform the neccessary parties of the cancellation of the 360's replacement project. "

Not true. I don't know why people talk so much BS.
Maybe he was talking about the "old" decision to abandon the first prototype and go for a new version. But this was a long time ago...

No, the nose looks more like the 360 nose, not much in common with the Enzo. And no, the air intake looks completely different. The front lights are looking like a mixture of 360 and Enzo headlights, the side air inlet(s) in the rear (side) looks a bit strange because it is at the level of the rear window or even slightly over it. Overall it really looks like a 360 with Enzo genes but people would immediately recognize a 360 and not an Enzo in it. It still has that "feminine" look I never liked on the 360 but it looks more refined, like it is made from one piece (the "flow" of the body shape shows more "harmony" now). The front could also be slightly mistaken with the front of the Lamborghini Gallardo, with the exception of the longer and slimmer front lights.
It is difficult to explain all details in English but I try my best.

- What I love about the Gallardo is its large and very steeply raked front windscreen - does the 420's look more like Gallardo's or 360's?
- From the headlight chop you made, looks like the headlight housing is painted in black (like the Enzo) instead of body color (like the 360 and 612)?
- Does it still have a B-pillar or does it look like it's pillarless?
