    R8 in C&D Picture

    I finally couldn't wait and did a digital subscription to see the picture. If this is it then it's a winner.

    Sorry guys but, this is PS work. Not a real thing... Door handles are missing...
    PS work in latest German AMS is 99.9% close to real thing.
    Also, look very carefully at front lights at C&D pic and then to the pic from Arizona. Light beams are way too big on C&D pic. Also where are front parking sensors on C&D pic?
    They are on front radiators vents below lights on Arizona pic...
    Little bit more patience...

    It is final design! Only this is not a real pic. But, person who did this PS work saw the real thing(or real pic).
    Today I heard some thing regarding acceleration(straight line)-997 GT3 level! Sounds good...

    Question. If the R8 can have the same engine as the Gallardo, what's to prevent someone from taking a Gallardo to an Audi dealer for service? Yes, I'm assuming there are other similarities in the drivetrain besides the engine. I'm thinking my next sports car will be a used Gallardo but the thing that holds me back is the lack of service outlets.

    At least the price is more realistic, but still high. 420hp & mid-engined for $80k...not bad for a German car. I am curious as to what the final weight will be...with AWD, I doubt it will be under 3300 lbs.

    agree ron, thats the best shot! it seems black suits the car best..
    kreso! gt3 accelerations with the "small" 420hp engine? wow! figures of the upcoming G v10 will be phenomenal!

    How will it do 997 GT3 numbers? The 997 GT3 is faster than the gallardo, doesn't sound right. Considering the RS4 is about matching the 997 C2S, that leaves about a 10 mph gap in the quarter mile and 1.2 seconds to 100 to make up. With the same motor as the RS4 I don't see that happening unless it has a 7 speed DSG and some low, low weight.

    Excellent question. Let's not get too excited about the HP until we find out the weight.

    First, few facts for you... Gallardo(MY2006-520hp) is not slower then 997 GT3 in acceleration(straight line). Several European magazines measures Gallardo faster in 0-200km/h and 0-250km/h then 997 GT3.
    Track times... Sport Auto achived 1.11,7min in Hockenheim and old 500hp Gallardo achived 1.11,8min! New 520hp version time is 1.11,6min so, faster then GT3. Auto Bild measured several sportscars in Oschersleben track and Gallardo was faster then F430F1, Vette Z06 and 997 Turbo. BTW, 997 GT3 was slower then 997 Turbo(on the track).
    Only track where 997 GT3 achived very good time was the Ring(in von Saurma hands).

    gt3 has 115hp less than gallardo and better chassis
