Adding PSE

I am thinking about adding PSE. I noticed in another thread that the installer has to remove the rear seats to install PSE. Is there a problem with that? Also, how much louder is it with the PSE off versus the stock exhaust? And do I understand that you can turn the PSE on/off by turning on the sports/chrono or by using the sport button on the lower center console. And the PSE shuts off during specific speed ranges? I need to find and drive a car with PSE. And what is the approximate cost for a dealer installation--parts and labor? I guess the part of me that loved the sound of my 68 Camaro with headers and dual exhaust is excited over the thought of the PSE (I know it wouldn't be that loud but I wouldn't want it that loud either--I could rattle houses windows). Thanks!

I recently had PSE installed by Brandywine Porsche and they did an unbelievable job. Ultra professional and I highly recommend them. With the PSE off, there's no difference compared to the stock exhaust in my opinion. With PSE on, it's louder but not to bad. I was concerned that my girl friend would HATE it, but after hearing it even she really liked the sound. It's really just right and I highly recommend it. They did the whole install including parts and labor for like 2300. I was also concerned about having the seat/console romoved, but after getting the car back it was PERFECT in every way.

It is quite a bit louder than the standard mufflers and sounds great.
Per factory installation, it will cycle on- off below ~ 50 mph depending on how hard you step on the throttle (due to some countries noise restrictions )
You do not need to remove the rear seats .
Get the PSE, you will love it. It sounds like a Porsche should ,not like some souped up Honda Civic ( a la Fabspeed etc.)
It's great that you can switch it off if you want a conversation with your passenger .
And if you want it on all the time,just unplug the solenoid valve or install a switch like I did(see the other thread on this forum)
