    My First Porsche: 997 Carrera S

    After owning 3 M3s, I finally decided to buy a Porsche for change.
    I have ordered the car in June and delivery will be in oktober. I have been following this forum for the last 4 months and tell you the truth you guys help me a lot on my choices especially on options XPA thicker steering wheel and adaptive sports seat.

    I want to share what I will get soon with you guys:
    997 Carrera S
    Meteor Grau
    TG- Sandbeige full Leather
    P01- Adaptive Sports Seats
    P12- Self dimming Mirror/ Rain Sensor
    P17- Sports fahrwerk + LSD
    XCZ- Short shifter
    XME- Body colored middle console
    XPA- Thicker Steering Wheel
    342- Heated seats
    407- Carrera Sport design wheels
    635- Park assistant
    640- Chrono package plus
    680- BOSE
    692- CD Changer

    Only option I wish I could get was the GT3's carbonfibre racing sheels. I didn't want to add extra 20kg on my car by getting the adaptive sports seats but manuel sports seats aren't comfortable because of the seating position; there is no hight adjustment on back side of the cushion.

    I would LOVE to get PDK since I loved the SMGII transmission on my previous 2 E46 M3s. Maybe next time ..

    Yes, good option list, the forum really helps alot....that thicker steering wheel became popular, should be standard!!
    Goodluck, you wont regret it against the M3, its a nice car, but a Porsche is much more exciting to drive IMO and looks a bit meaner!!

    Dont forget PSE is right.....!!!otherwise you'll probably add it later and then they must take your seats out in the back...blah blah

    Good options choice and nice combo!!
    From now on the bad part is the wait...

    Thank you for the warm welcome and kind comments.

    I didn't get PSE because I will put Tubi headers and Tubi rear silencer when I get the car. I think there is a place for improvment on OEM headers of Carrera S; just by looking at the design.

    Tell you the truth I was very happy with my E46 M3s.
    I loved to use SMGII, and I loved the driving character of M3; front engine-rear drive. With variable M diff. car oversteers easily and drifts nicely in control.
    However, I want something special; more sports car design.

    Since I'm only 26, I don't need the back seats; I don't need a huge trunk and so on.

    Only thing that worries me is getting a manual car since I don't like using a clutch evenif I race in Honda Cup series in Turkey and my racing car is manuel

    Actually since I do car business and import/export cars, wait for the orders, I'm used to wait for the cars and most of the time I forget which car I'm waiting for

    It is different to wait for a personal car especially for a first one like you mentioned (is it?) rather than to wait for a car that will be used professionally to make business.

    For me, getting any car is something special, so, my first porsche would be even more hard to wait for. BTW, I'm waiting for 997 TT, I can tell you that the wait has been pretty hard, since I'm waiting since March 06, and it is not my first P. car. Luckily, the press and rennteam helped me to go trough the summer smoothly, and soon my car will exit porsche factory by september!

    Congrats on the 997 TT. It is hell of a car.
    Tell you the truth I'm becoming very unpatient but it gets harder if you think about it too much.

    So I just leave it till the oktober.
    On the other hand I'm making my preparation for the Tubi
