Thx for posting, Kreso
....lim insights as clearly journalist was just riding along....and mysteriously doesn't offer insights from own driving of car even on nearby off-track roads....
Yest did some brief back-to-back comparos on an urban fwy of an '07 SL65 I just got and a colleague's 997TT Tip....both cars w/200ish mis...so obviously trannies still adapting and not broken in....would observe that 65, despite also being a biturbo w/same box as Tip (w/different software) absolutely crushes accel feel of 997TT Tip in 60-120MPH bursts (which IMO is most relevant accel zone for fast urban fwys anywhere
)....997TT Tip has rather noticeable turbo lag/nonlinearity, which I couldn't detect in 65....and in 65, the massive tq prob makes no. of gears/shift speeds less relevant for accel.....whereas, vs 997TT's little motor, where turbo lag/nonlinearity and tranny shift speeds may be more apparent.....
Also would observe 997TT is much more stable vs cross-winds at 100MPH than 996TTS was (IMO a major dynamic weakness of 996TTS on the often-windy SF Peninsula)....now 997TT feels as stable as SL65 vs cross-winds....
