    Some photo's I took at the Porsche showrom today

    Went to visit the local OPC to check out the new Turbo, took some pictures of the Carrera GT that was also there. Thought I would just share the photos with you guys

    No prob, pleasure as always.

    I was rather disappointed that both the demo vehicles were not available for test drives this weekend of the new Turbo. Would have loved to feel how this new beast goes.

    As for the CGT, the second they legalise LHD cars on our roads, we will see. For now, it will sit in the showroom.

    I went to another dealer to drive the BMW M6 and I must say it was very impressive, the throttle response on that vehicle was amazing. Very quick for a normally aspirated motor, especially at our altitudes (4100ft above sea level)!

    Mike, so at the mo the CGT is not a street legal car in SA ? Politicians and their warped reasoning again ? If so, why has the P dealer got the car in their inventory ?

    Some people just like buying them for collecting, not sure on their exact reasoning for having it. It's been there since the beginning of this year.

    Not anytime soon, for me upgrading to a faster version of a car isn't worth it IMO. It's faster etc. but the inside still feels the same. To me that loses half the excitement of the car, kind of like what happened when I ditched the SL55 for a SL65, it just lost it's magic so quick with me.

    I agree with Mike... Just test-drove the Turbo and sure it was quick, but everything else felt the same as my 997S.

    Everything that is except the sound of my PSE. I would miss that too much. The sound IMO is more exhilerating than the extra speed.

    thanks for the pics mike , that cgt in black looks mean! i completely agree with you on exchanging a car for another faster version, it happened to me once, and as you say ,the magic was really gone

    yes, I would much rather upgrade my 997S (Like install Evo Supercharger etc.) then trade-in for a Turbo.
