I started out with the Carrera S on my car, but switched to a set of Classics after only 4 weeks. The originals were waaaaaay to finicky to keep clean. Classics are a breeze to maintain, plus I like their wide-open look.

Georges,
I may be wrong, but I once read a post on Rennteam that claimed the Carrera S wheels were the lightest of the option wheels. Can anyone validate that?
Anyway, I like the Carrera S wheel design, even if they are hard to clean and wax.

My 997S was listed on dealer website with sport wheels but my salesman tried to talk me into the Carrera S wheel for an additional $650 discount (they had evidently traded them off the car for someone who wanted the sport wheels). I insisted on the sport wheels because I did not personally care for the S wheel so he agreed to change them back to the sport. When I picked up the car, I loved the looks of them but wasn't sure about having painted wheels but I have grown to love them. They are probably a little harder to clean than the classics (more spokes) but if I ordering now, I would go for the sports. I also had not realized that the sport wheel came with a slightly larger tire (305s vs. 295s) on the rear (same as the C4S) but now I think the wider the better.

I didn't realize till now that the Sports had .5 inch wider rims and 305's in the rear, that would defintely sway my opinion towards getting them instead.

Stradale, you can mount 305 on any P. wheels, I've done that on my SportDesigns and they look great.
