Yes I agree with Crash. You should find a way to make Rennteam into a true money maker and still keep it as a great community.
I am sure it has it's challenges but with some good thought it can be done !

Thanks for the kind words, guys...I really appreciate it.
Rennteam.com isn't a one man show, even if it sometimes appear to be that way and I'm really not pleased about it.
Running ads on this site would be a possibility to gain some money but this would be for improving the site, not my personal gain. Here lies the problem: this doesn't "help" me to have more time for Rennteam, meaning: Rennteam would gain some money but on the other hand, this money would be useless since I wouldn't have the time to improve this site.
The other moderators may do that but CR for example is even more busy than I am, for him time is even more a problem.
Bottom line is: I can't add ads to Rennteam and not offer our members something instead as a benefit for these ads.
Rennteam has always been an enthusiast site and we never wanted to make profit with it. To run this site the way we would love to run it, I would need to give up my business. Unfortunatley I doubt that I'll ever be able to feed my family and lead the lifestyle I'm having now with this site. I would love to because I love cars but I'm with both feet on the ground and I know that it is impossible. So why annoying you guys with banners or ads if it wouldn't really improve this site? I hope you get the point.

Good luck RC, business and family come first. How else are we gonna pay for our toys?
Don't mind that guy who got you all riled up, life is too short, enjoy your TT. Still waiting for mine;)
Oh well, one last outing at Watkin's Glen for the old C4S for me, next time it will be in a 997TT. When I'm in Regensburg I'll make a trip to the 'ring and look you guys up!

Yes, I get what you're saying. But what about Rennteam memorabillia? Hats, key chains and the like. You know demand is strong, so why not seize the opportunity? I've always wanted a Rennteam 997 Turbo hat, but driving all the way to Bavaria and haggling with your daughter to exchange two Barbie dolls and a Rubik's cube for a hat seems a bit too troublesome to me . I'm pretty sure you could sell at least several hundred hats, plus stuff such as key chains and the like. We'd buy this stuff, but you need to offer it first . Just split the profits with CR any way yo like and keep the money. The site is perfect the way it is, so give yourself some credit.

As you can see from the Hamptons trip we had here a month ago, give me the Rennteam logo + products and I'll make it a best seller.
