    Black Sports wheel w/Stone Grey interior (black exterior)?

    I just picked up a Cayman S this week - PASM, Sports Chrono, 19" - awesome car so far, but I haven't wrung it out yet...

    I've got the standard steering wheel, and my other car is an Elise with an awesome little sports wheel. Compared to that, the steering wheel in the Cayman feels way too big and thin.

    I just saw a friend's sports steering wheel in his Cayman, and decided to get one for my Cayman. I've got a stone grey interior (vinyl with leather seats), and the exterior is black - I think a black leather wheel/airbag would look pretty cool, but wonder if I might regret going with black, and wish I just stuck with the grey to match the rest of the interior.

    Anyone mixed and matched a black wheel with another color interior?

    Go for the thicker sport steering wheel (XPA) you will love it. Her is a pic of mine.

    The two-tone leather interior for the 997 also uses a black steering wheel (just like the upper dashboard) in contrast to a lighter coloured lower dashboard / seat / center console / door panels. Take a look at those.

    Since black / grey - coloured interiors are offered for the Boxster and Cayman it should work together colourwise. However I personally would consider to swap the gear- / brakelever as well. Either to black or carbon...

    Interesting consideration by the way...
    Maybe you can shoot an email to Porsche Exclusive - I bet you are not the first one with this idea. This is at least a pic from the Boxster forum - I hope everybody feels comfortable about posting this:

    I agree with you about the skinny standard wheel, but I've been quoted Pounds700+ for the sports wheel. Have you found anywhere to get it cheaper? (Retro fit)

    Thanks for the replies - The two tone picture looks great, so I'm gonna go for it. Good idea to replace the shifter/brake as well, that will set things off nicely (won't do that right away, but I see that in my future).

    rfakhri, your car looks awesome - thanks for the shot of the wheel.

    BTW, does anyone know the difference between option 460 and option XPA? Both are listed in the online "build your Porsche" pages and in the options book. I can't tell if they are basically the same thing - XPA is what people usually call the sport wheel, but the dealer wanted to order me 460 and then the airbag separately.

    TV man - I can't find a decent price either, my friend got the wheel and airbag for around 1400 and that's basically the price I'm quoted as well.
