    Re: Cayenne facelift info

Amazing how small details can change the face of a car.
Never been a fan of the Cayenne's looks but this one actually looks rather nice!
    Bring on Paris motor show!
    Thanks Ronito!

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

    hmmm..

well I personally would take the new X5.
The cayenne just doesnt look up to date anymore.
The next 3-4 years will be very hard vor Porsche in terms of Cayenne sales, since the new ML and X5 are brand new models (G class should also be counted), better looking, and offer a much better performance.
And lets don't forget, the unanderstandable tranny problems.

The X5 4,4 of my cousin launches like a rocket from standing still.

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

The front Bumper on the one it seems will be the turbo looks good (in the picture posted by Ron)..but have you seen the one of the V6/S??

    horrible!!!with the vertical turn lights

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

    Avoe,

on that note, I heard that recently they showed the comparison between Q7 and the C-turbo (I'm not sure was fifth gear or top gear or may be some other program) and the new Q7 appearently blow the Cayenne out of the water in every aspect.

Does anyone one have a link to this show?

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

Sorry Ron but the Q7 is the same as the cayenne and the touareg. The are on the same basis, so they share the same problems. Weight, etc. I also think they are using same tranny system? At least the cayenne and the touareg.
I the X5 you need to push the thorttle very carefully, since if you press it to much, the car just jumps forwards. I am sure there are many X5 owners that can comment on that one.
Sure the design looks more fresh now, but since the X5 offers now 7 seater option (will make many decisions easier for buyers), very nice interieur design, and the exterior looks also very aggressive. so I guess this car will lead the market for Premium SUVS.

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

    Thanks Ron!

    Not much camo left!

There appears to be a new, unPorsche-like wrinkle at the outside top of the front fender ... or is it just the way the light is striking it? They have had a thick piece of camo on that area, up until now.

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

It's just the light, the current one has that crease too, at least the one outside my study window does

All I'm seeing is a new air dam and slightly different lights. I don't think I'll be rushing to update in the next 12 months.

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

Still don't like the looks of this car!!!

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

I have a CT and test drove a Q7. Q7 is performance wise comparable to Cayenne S, not by any means to CT. Also handling wise any Cayenne is much sportier. Q7 is very roomy and comfortable. Different world.

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

Very nice facelift. I agree with some or you. The Cayenne does look quite awful in photographs but when you see it in real life it looks very sleek and powerful. I like it despite what many people say about the looks of it.

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

    I don't like it

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

    Thanks .

I was surprise myself when I heard CT compared to Q7 .

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

Cleaned the picture up a wee bit -

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

If that's supposed to be a TT there are still anomalies. It's definitely got air suspension but only a single centre grill and no power bulges on the bonnet. The only thing that tells me it's a TT is the 997 TT style light fin in the grill.

There's something very odd with that photo! I'm wondering if it's a photoshop.

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

    Some more Pictures

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

Looks like this one are the Cayenne S

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

    Turbo from the back?

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

Well, in the article, they say that only a few strips of tape were removed with pshop...
What I dislike is that the front looks the same like the 997 tt... and it looks very cheapish. They are artificially connecting the cayenne turbo to the 911 turbo, and I think it is better to distinguish it more from the 911. Why must the tail lights have that very same revision as the taillights we see on the 997 revision? :dunno: it doesn't really make me happy!

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

It is going to be hard to keep reasonable sales untill 2010 with this... The novolty of the new front and rear does not take away from the general ' old' looking body.

I couldn't agree more. I hope there are still some camo that we can't tell.

Funny thing is I showed the front picture to my wife and the only thing she noticed was different was the european lic. plate .

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

    And what about the engines?

    V6 3.2? 3.6? FSI? 280cv?
    V8 4.5 FSI? 380cv?
    V8 TT 4.5 FSI? 500cv?

    Hybrid?

This is what you get for hiring a design guy from Saab... Some of the most uninspiring designs ever.

Unless Porsche figures out a way to make cars from mud I just don't see how they will keep up their current profitability.

Remember they're still making money off their old reputation and fame. I would say if Porsche was a new company they had no chance to survive with their new design ques.

    Re: Cayenne facelift info

I agree with you Ron 100%!
