I tracked a cayman s with pccb's, and I'd only recommend them if you track the car alot, but if its gonna be your dd don't bother.
Pccbs are too harsh for just cruising, and its not as if the standards are crap...Anyway i don't see why anyone would invest all that extra cash in a cayman.
You'd end up paying 997 money.

Sounds like a mixed bag. I figured with the PCCBs and other options like PASM, sport chrono, bose, etc., a new Cayman S would cost, at minimum, in the mid-70s. And that would be with a standard interior. If you went full leather, etc., then you'd be pushing $80k.
But the car would be distinctive. I've not seen one Cayman S on the street with yellow brakes. And where I live steel brakes rust overnight and esp. after you wash your car. So that might be an advantage for me. I'm concerned about them not being good for daily use == too harsh someone said? I haven't heard that one before.

Though I'm not talking from own experience there are some users (997 models though) who describe the usability exactly the other way round
Good for use on public streets but not so good if you're a track guy. I know, sounds very confusing as it would be natural to assume that the PCCB's are designed for track use in the first place But there are drivers who complain about the poor longevity of the PCCB's on the track. Some even bought their cars equipped with them and then decided to replace them with steel brakes
Maybe those track drivers complaining just don't cool off the brakes properly after some hot laps or maybe they do some other weird things with their cars

Thanks very much for your insights. I'm considering PCCBs for a Cayman S because 1) steel brake disks rust very quickly in Hawaii's salt environment, 2) I expect the steering will feel lighter or more responsive, 3) I just plain like the looks of the yellow calipers and big composite roters. On the down side is the cost, which everyone assures me will not be recovered at tradein or resale.
