    rhino,

My dealer called and I will most likely not see my TT this year. I'm down to #9 on the list. Having placed a deposit April 7 this seems unreasonable, am I off base? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Mike

Well not really unreasonable, I put my deposit at Melbourne last October and placed the order in July. I also placed one last August in Orlando and have not heard when that allocation slot would be available, but there were already 20 coupe deposits ahead of me at that time. I'll be asking for my deposit back shortly so if someone wants that slot let me know.

Thanks again my friend, it's people like you on this forum that make Rennteam what it is

No problem....are you still placing an order?

    Re: TT Allocation

1st thing this AM I get a call from the dealer and they ask me to have my order ready by tomorrow AM and no changes. When I ask why I was told yesterday no allocation,no response. They were probably trying to sell my allocation and make $10K more . I been on the list since March 2005 and here is what the order will be tomorrow AM and let the wait begin.

    Atlas Grey
    Black interior leather
    X54 chrome stainless steel tailpipe
    450 PCCB's
    XSC Porsche Crest on headrest
CUV Storage Compt. lid w/ Model Logo
    POL1 Adaptive Sports Seats
    342 Heated Seats
    CDZ Gear Lever Trim Leather
XMZ Rear Center Console in Leather
    Sport shifter if available.
    Black Mats - Porsche lettering
    Thicker Steering Wheel in Leather
Sport Chorono Package Plus turbo logo
    220 Axle Diff Lock
    Fire Extinguisher

Thx Nick. It will be yellow and yes your assumption was proabably right. Why else all of a sudden they have a alocation over night ad they didnt have it yesterday? Their deal probably fell thrrough and they came back to me. Car dealers

Doesn't the same ownership own United Auto Group? How many dealerships do they own between them in this country? How many are selling 997TT over MSRP? Are these cars, cars that would otherwise be going to customers on their list? You tell me! I saw a 997TT for sale online at Ferrari Scottsdale for well over the MSRP, I would like to know if that car came from one of the other Penske/United Auto P-dealers. I don't know, you have to look into it yourself and make your own conclusion.

United Auto Group is what I was talking about. Salesman did not say they were doing it, just that they were getting offers.

I don't believe that the "archaic" 6 six speed will take as much of a hit as you suggest. Faster is not always more fun.
Albiet, SMG is not as good as PDK (coming), but why do you think that BMW has added a manual gear box option to the M5. The third generation of SMG is certainly very good.
Tip trannies will suffer, but manual, I think not.

    Re: TT Allocation

Something is getting fishy. When I plunked down the required hefty deposit for the launch car I also put a deposit down for a build to order car, when the slot became available. A month later a friend of mine orders a 997TT and tells me his slot is #3. Hmm..then my build slot must be #2. I call to confirm and that is the case, or so I'm told. On Friday my friend calls and tells me his car is on the water, will be here in a few weeks. A car ordered after mine is being delivered first. I Will be having a sitdown with my salesman very soon. Something slippery is going on here also.

During the ordering process, I have learned that you have to be a pest with these dealers or they will sell your slot. Good luck and give em hell.

    Re: TT Allocation

this thread is funny. why is anyone surprised that a premium is expected to be the "first on the block" with this new toy? it's always been like this! just get a lightly used 996tt and give the market time to sort itself out!

    Re: TT Allocation

Altready have a 997S, why would I want to buy old 996TT? I have yet to pay a premium for any car and usually the 1st on the block.
