    Re: Some different colour-to-sample

    OK, opinions please . . .

997 Targa - Baltic Blue with Cocoa, or Flamenco Red with Cocao??

    Not my cup of tea

I would do the Baltic Blue or Flamenco Red with either Black, Gray, or Sand Beige interiors. Cocoa would seem too rich for Flamenco Red and "off" for Baltic Blue.

But since I'm not Stella McCartney what do I know?

Re: Not my cup of tea

Here are several more of those cars from the dealer in Virginia:

    Maritime Blue --

Linen - Hellgelb - this car is clearly a different color than the "Linen" you posted. The photos I am posting were sent to me as being linen from the dealer. Which is correct do you think? I have asked the dealer to confirm the color, I will let you know if they get back to me.

    Baltic Blue --

    Horizon Blue --

    Glacier Blue --

    How about some non-997's?

    Coral Red --

    Mint Green --

    A Few More

Here are a few more from that same dealer, Euroclassics in Virginia, (www.euroclassics.com) Have to give them credit, I think they are the only dealer doing so much color-to-sample, and I think it is awesome.

    Stone Grey Metalic --

Re: Not my cup of tea

Michael, would love to now what is the interior color of the horizon blue cab.

Re: Not my cup of tea

    looks like linen

Re: Not my cup of tea

    Ziggy --

I have those photos as well, but in my hotmail account, which I can not access from work. I will post later this afternoon.

    Ziggy --

just re-read your post. I do NOT have photos of the horizon blue cab interior, but I do agree with rhino, I think I remember it being linen, an interior color this dealer uses frequently.

Thanks Rhino and Michael ! I guess linen is a color-to-sample too

Re: Not my cup of tea

    Ziggy --

Yes, linen is color to sample interior leather.

Re: Not my cup of tea

The exterior "linen" in the later photo is a nonmetallic. The earlier posted "linen" is their metallic one. We have one of those sitting here at our dealership in town. I think it's Cocoa inside (cab) with a Cocoa top. Nice combo with the linen exterior.

Any chance to get a pic of the linen/cocoa I only can imagine it looks sooo beautiful
BTW the pics of your stunning blue-turqoise baby convinced me (and especially wifey ) that our next P will get a color to sample We saw a lot of those great 70' colors at an event with all those oldies but goldies and just loved the old colors (maybe it has to do with our age -just nostalgic sentiments ).
I'll upload some of the oldies into this thread.

Re: Not my cup of tea

One can only hope that we will see more COLOR in the Porsche line up tomorrow. With their expensive new paint facilities they should be striving for as much variety as possible.

Here's their new targa picture featuring a serious metallic color:

I love the Horizon Blue Metallic

    Horizon Blue

Turns out the dealer website had some photos of the interior of the horizon blue cab. It is listed as being Linen.

I love it too. Isn't Horizon Blue the colour of the 997S shown in Porsche's Exclusive brochure ? I have it in French and the name of the colour mentioned there is Bleu Fontaine.

    Nico997,

I think "Bleu Fontaine" is a different color, because the Northamerican member Atomic80 photographed a bespoke 997TT in this color at the Zuffenhausen dealer a few weeks ago : http://www.rennteam.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=251855&an=0&page=3#251855 and he names it "Fountain Blue".

Fountain Blue looks brighter to me.

My friend had a 996 MKII convertible in Horizon Blue it truely IS beautiful in person.

I don't know why Porsche doesn't offer some of these nice colors as available options as opposed to different shades of gray and silvers all the time .

I have finally decided that it comes down to what the majority of buyers are ordering. Today's Porsche driver appears to want to be subdued in his appearance. These other colors have always been available. In fact, Paint To Sample has been around forever, and at a much better price, too. I think that they are simply giving us what the people want. For the rest of us we have to spend a little more to get something unique. As I mentioned earlier, its ironic that they are painting most cars some silver or grey metallic when they have such a capable paint shop now.

    Re: Horizon Blue

Dan...I completely agree. There are so many beautiful colours to choose from rather than the boring and ubiquitous black/silver/grey. I am speccing 997tt at the moment. I am deciding between horizon blue and fountain blue. Has anyone seen both in the flesh? If so, what's the difference. I saw fountain in Atomic80's photos and it looked stunning, but hard to tell from indoor photos. And dealer is useless in this regard. Would it really be so difficult for dealers to keep samples of all colours (old and current)?
