martini964:See Christian, you post a picture of yours and family and then you blame others send you love letters . was it a iranian guy while ago u mentioned wanted to sell you a car, lol. Don't blame others eh. BTW, your car looked awesome.
I doubt that someone would recognize my daughter now...
Here are more pictures...first (silver) 996 during a trip to Cote d'Azur.
Also another car I drove...won't say much about it but the license plate gives it away.

Love to see those old 996 pics you own guys.
I had mine during three years and then it blown the engine. Put a recon at Porsche and sold it just after. It was a funny car to drive, much more easy to play than 997.2, but the engine was a time bomb and before it blew I was trying to sell it because of that. 997.2 is a much better product in all aspects, driving pleasure apart, still I would never ever buy one again.

Whoopsy:Haha, so the 'hideous' looking 996 was the entry point to Porsche for a lot of us
Only you brand newbies, those of us brought up through the original 911,964 and 993 avoided the hideous 996, for me the only good thing about the 996 is that it spawned the 997
997 GT2 2014 3.9 Mezger, 800PS @ 1.2 bar
993 Turbo, 2006 built 3.8, 577PS/797NM, 1440kg DIN
Well, as much as I loved the G, 964, and 993, the 996 along with the cosmetically identical (front view) 986 were the Kanban cars that saved Porsche from extinction.
The 996 is the car that made today's success at Porsche possible. That's not an exaggeration.

I barely like to admit it...
Not quite though...my entry point was a 993 Targa and I really regretted it (got it without a test drive because everyone was raving about how good the 911 is...). Drove a M3 E36 before that, so it was quite the cultural shock. It was like switching from a modern car to a classic VW Beetle.

Some 996 reliability info.

DuckieRS:Another first Porsche. Still miss it...
Zanzibar! I had that car in that color as my bedroom poster, it sparked my love for GT Porsches.
