I am somewhat puzzled by the angst regarding RC not betraying a source. This site usually is the first for information regarding European cars and if seeing the new rendition of the 360 will compromise information regarding other cars then I am not interested in seeing it. As it is we are getting more information on the replacement than anywhere else.
I am slated to be an early recipient of the replacement and have an acute interest in it. However if it means losing other sources I will take a pass.

Wayne I love it. IN my opinion the F1 tranny is light years ahead of manual.You nail the downshift EVERY time and concentrate on driving and timing of the shifts. My prior Spider was 6 speed and I cannot describe how much more I enjoy the car with F1

The only reason why we sometimes get some pretty good and actually FYEO infos is the fact that we built a trust relationship with our sources. We know how far we can go with unveilling information and we stand to our word not to publish things we know but which are still off-limits for the public. If we don't obey these "rules", we can forget about our sources soon and nobody will trust us anymore.
Yes, I saw the 987 and the 997. The REAL thing. Yes, I saw the 420 (or whatever it will be called), the REAL thing (pre-production starts in May, no more factory visits in that period
) and yes, I saw pictures of other new models too, some of them which haven't even been announced to the press yet. But this is part of a trust relationship with car manufacturers, specific sources and sometimes even people who just make contact with us via eMail and prove to posses valuable information. We're not making money with our infos, maybe this is one reason why our sources trust us. And I don't want to change that, our sources have to be protected and in the case of the 420 I can say only one thing: posting the picture would hurt somebody pretty hard, not physically but financially. Why should I want to do that to somebody? No way. And a last hint: if you guys would read ALL posts on our forums (I agree that this can be sometimes pretty boring and time costing), you could put together a pretty clear picture of a lot of additional information. I can't help you out, you have to put the puzzle pieces together by yourselves.
I have to apologize if some people feel offended by our oath to unveill information but protect our sources by any means possible or to keep to our word towards official sources but this is the only way how we're able to run this site with that kind of information. We're a private site full or enthusiasts and it is tough enough for us.

How could pre-production start in "May" when Montezemolo himself last week stated that nothing will be done on the next 8-cylinder F-car until the next generation 12-cylinder Maranello is completed and put into production?

great news indeed!
And good to know that we all are going to keep the sources the editors of this forum have established over the years.
Although i'm a 360 lover i look more than forward to see and drive the 420.
RC, what do you think when will there be first pics announced to the press?

Just try to get an appointment for a factory tour end of may or june, I'm curious...
BTW: I understand you guys are suspicious and doubtful and I understand that you guys want to see the picture. But if you don't trust us and our information, there are dozens of other sources on the internet too. Just choose one of them...
