    575 M Geneva

Has anyone heard anything about a special 575 M that is supposed to debut at the Geneva show.
Is it a road version or race?

    Re: 575 M Geneva

I thought the current version is 575M, may be it'll be 575-GTC?

    Re: 575 M Geneva

My Ferrari/ Maserati contact doesn't know anything about this.
But, I have read the news in this week's Autocar (UK) so maybe...
Sorry, don't know much about this.

"A more extreme version of the 575M"

It says using knowledge from the LM car, so its definitely a road car made more extreme probably like a Stradale version?

possibly about 20 more stingy hp, about 100+kgs less weight, launch control, bucket seats, quicker transmission, price probably Maybach territory!

Even more extreme than a Firoano optioned 575M?

    hmmmm...

    Re: 575 M Geneva

Several months ago - feeling a little foolish - I e-mailed Ferrari through the owners' site begging them to make a 575 Stradale. I had no idea that I am so well connected in Maranello!

If the 575+ is built, skeptics no doubt will complain that Ferrari is dressing up the Maranello to boost sales until the 575 successor is available - I heard this said of the Stradale. I'm not a skeptic, I'm a buyer.

    Cheers, Will

    Re: 575 M Geneva

If they succed to lower the weight to around 996 gt2 it wll blow the gt2 out of its class, 575 has 515 hp, check it out I exepct nothing lower then 550 if it is built. If it is true way to go for your roots ferrari. The 360 challing stradalle was just the begining

So true! Things are really getting wild with sports car manufactures, heck I have even heard consistent rumors that the E60 M5 will have a lightweight version as well?????

Less weight+ more hp = real adrenalin rush.

    Re: 575 M Geneva

I hope this is true, it would be wonderful to have ferrari go to its roots (even more than it is allready) and maket virtually pure racing cars, my mind drifts back to an earlier time, the time of the F40s, and 288GTOs......

Well said. I always would prefer a "Challenge Stradale" version. I have called my dealer in the hope of being first in line - assuming the car, and its performance gains, are real.

    Re: 575 M Geneva

These are the features of the 575M Handling GTC (taken from the Ferrari owners site):

"The GTC Handling pack for the 575M is also the first to offer carbon-ceramic brake discs, already adopted on the Enzo and the Challenge Stradale, for a front-engined Ferrari, and represents a further evolution in the strong personality of the Maranello. As is clear from its name, which refers to the transfer of the handling characteristics of the version used in the FIA-GT Championship to the road-going model, the GTC Handling option offers an even more thrilling driving experience, thanks to its new track-derived components. Apart from the effectiveness of the new brakes developed in collaboration with Brembo, this is a further development of the Fiorano handling package (special springs and anti-roll bars, lowered ride height, upgraded power steering), with additional advances in electronic suspension control. The new personalisation option also includes an exhaust system with an even deeper, characteristic rumble, newly designed exhausts, coloured brake callipers featuring the “Brembo Carbon Ceramic” logo, and modular 19" wheels fitted with special Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres (255/35 ZR 19 front and 305/30 ZR 19 rear). This combination of advanced new components offers drivers even headier performance from an already firm favourite with devotees of the Maranello 12-cylinders."

There are also some new options for the 360 Modena, which follow the strategy of the Challenge Stradale:

"With regard to the 360 Modena and Spider, Ferrari is also using the Geneva Show to unveil a new Racing exhaust and carbon kit (specifically on the 360 Spider), developed to offer customers yet another personalisation choice. Both components are derived from the Prancing Horse’s experience with the Challenge Stradale."

    Re: 575 M Geneva

    Thanks for the news Rossi,
Ferrari has finally understood the need for racing exhaust, this is fantastic news. No more need for Tubi now.
A great sounding car with all the warranty needed.
I like this approach, car noise is IMO a big element in driving pleasure.

    Re: 575 M Geneva

Rumors persist that Ferrari will be offering the 575M in a convertible model with a retractable top like the MB.

Absolutely, Francoise! A "standard" Modena (or Maranello or Modena successor...) with the exhaust note of a Challenge Stradale! Great!
I'm always surprised, how Ferrari manages to pass EU noise/sound regulations...

    Re: 575 M Geneva

Ferrari sure is capitalizing on their new carbon brake system, I wonder if it may even up in Maserati's cars. I haven't had an opportunity to experience these new breaks, Nor have I ever driven a 575, any thoughts on how this combination will interact?

My friend who just took the delivery of 360 CS told me that there is a mechanical valve in the exhaust that can be opened up or closed.

how do eu regs compare to those here in the us?

    Re: Ferrari Geneva gallery

The 575M Handling GTC displayed in Geneva had the so called "carbon kit" originally announced for the 360. Well, after I've seen it I have to say it's not worth the money doesn't matter how much it costs (IMO).
