Thanks for the pics. The GTS is my fav classic P car. I'd love to pick up one of the few (I think four) prototype flat sixes one day. There's a guy who specializes in brokering them in the US: http://www.the904store.com/

Porsche built 120 cars equipped with the 4cyl engine from 1963-1965. I had a chat with the owner of the car in the pics, who said that only 6 cars have been equipped with the flat-6.
The miracle of the stunning performance has been - like so often - leightweight construction. It was the first P-car ever with a plastic body. The street version was about 650 kg only
The seats were not adjustable (you had to adjust the steering wheels and the pedals).
Although this baby was designed as a track car in the first place, it performed very well as a Rallye car also (2nd place in Rallye Monte Carlo 1964).
