noone1:Should have told me you were in Benin, RC. I'm leaving tomorrow, we could have grabbed a coffee...
Must be bluelines, my car isn't white and this one looks more like a Cayman than R8 😎

noone1:Nah, it's his; I checked the steering wheel.
Have you also checked the quality of the meds you took? 😜

Close enough. VAG's new motto is close enough is close enough.
One of my friends ordered the wheels on the 911R to be painted Meissen Blue, it got shipped with silver ones.
Well, they made the Cayman look like a 911 derivate for a reason and I guess it took Audi a lot of effort to wrap the Huracan into an Audi dress. 😉

Speaking of tires...
This is a comparison between the Michelin Cup 2 on the R8 vs. the latest Corvette Z06 with Z07 package.
See the difference?
Conclusion: The brand name type doesn't really say much nowadays, the differences are often huge, even if a tire carries the same name (type).

These shenanigans are basically equal to active cheating on customers and I blame the tire manufacturers for that. I get it, they are under pressure from car manufacturers but this is not right.
If I can configure a PZero or Cup 2 in 10 different setups (compound, tread pattern, etc.), this is insane (and dangerous, just imagine those idiots using OEM rated tires on different car brands).
From a discussion in an Audi forum, I noticed that many Audi R8 (first gen) drivers are using Porsche N-rated tires because they think they are better than the Audi rated R0 tires. Yeah...makes sense...tires for a RWD car with a heavy weight ratio setup in the rear (engine 911) on a mid engined car. What can go wrong?!
Tire and car manufacturers need to stop this nonsense.
Also, the Cup 2 for the R8 is a joke. This is no real semi-slick. It works for a round or two and then it starts degrading fast (unlike other Cup 2 versions). So what is it useful for? Why not offer the Trofeo R for the R8, it is available for the Huracan. Or the new Corsa?

Carlos from Spain:X2 never seen a cup with that depth in the tread, that's more in line with what you would see in a regular sport tire
Actually that's about the same as the ones on my 911R. And my Speciale before.
The vette tire however looks like a shaved version.

The Corvette tire is the ZP version, I think.
Gnil:That Audi Cup 2 tire looks like a PSS

Straight out of a video game it seems.
Why do people do this to their cars?
