As for the paddle vs button debate, for heaven's sake, let's see what the design is actually like to use before passing premature judgment. All we've seen are technical drawings from patent applications (which are illustrative of design concepts only rather than being pictorially accurate - ask any patent lawyer this). Let's try it first. PAG may have come up with something even more user-friendly than steering column mounted paddles.

Agree. I cannot believe PAG would spend this many years developing PDK with an interim 'button' design for 1 year followed by 'paddles' after 1 year.
I think the real motivation behind this rumour (which, in my view, is without any factual basis) is that someone is disappointed with the fact that there will be buttons (not paddles) and he/she wants to peddle a rumour that the buttons are temporary only.
I would suggest people here should exercise a little more discernment as to whom they believe.
Worse still is when people simply spread rumours without any evidence to back it up. It's irresponsible and it undermines the credibility and integrity of Rennteam. This site is not like other websites. It is non commercial and does not need to spread sensationalist or headline-grabbing rumours in order to attract sponsors and page hits. It seeks to inform using credible information and not to disseminate blatant misinformation.
Please bear this in mind in future for the benefit of us all. After all, anybody can play a p*ssing game about who broke the 'news' first. But p*ssing games are only really won by people with genuine hard info.

Wow sorry for the upset, I was ust passing on what I was told by someone with the job title "Porsche Specialist" at OPC Reading - I felt there was credibility by the definitive manner in which the message was delivered and the link of OPC Reading to Porsche Head Office. I clearly do not know, but was just sharing. Again apologies!

I believe the base Carrera with PDK and sport exhaust will be the best value 911... except a low mileage 997 Carrera S Mk1, of course!
Even so, do you believe the PDK will be enough to go for the Mk2?
I could assure you that the PDK will be superfast, faster than F-cars F1. Porsche will not hold back this long and then release a coffee machine

It might look like an SD card reader, but according to the pics in the link posted by BiTurbo, the text beneath it says "SIM", implying that it will be a slot for the phone sim card.

According to the PI document, bluetooth choices will be optional extras:
- GSM quad-band telephone module (Bluetooth(R) SAP) (666)
- Cordless active handset for telephone module (669)
- Mobile-phone preparation with console (Bluetooth(R) HFP) (618)
- Mobile-phone preparation (Bluetooth(R) HFP) (619)
So the default will be with SIM card.
