    Re: Facelift timeline

    looks like midnight blue.....

    Re: Facelift timeline

I think the facelifted it will come out before the year 2008 because from what I see from the pictures the car can't be for two years testing without any disguise.... just look at the pictures the car can be seen already exactly as it will be...... Don't imagine that Porsche will make us see the car in this way for two years because it will look old already when it will come out!

Actually there was no facelift with the 996TT. The other 996 took the facelift in 02 from the newly introduced TT in 01...

Different (I hope) this time around, the 997TT was introduced whitout facelifted parts. So the 997 facelift will have to migrate to the 997TT...

I must be mistaken then. I thought that there were some subtle cosmetic changes made, such as the rear bumper warts being painted, rather than being black. Maybe I'm confusing that with the 996 na model.

Why does the Carrera facelift *have* to migrate to the Turbo? History does not always repeat itself...

A good example, did the 997 4S get introduced with a special bodywork like the 996 4S? Nope. Yet, everyone did expect it to have a special bodywork since this is how it was on the 996.

    Re: Facelift timeline

the 996 4S got a body work because Porsche were close to the last run of the 996's, so in order to boost sales they used the turbo shell as an incentive for buyers to purchase the car. Also the c4s was a new model, all we used to have was a c4. Remember it is all about boosting the sales !

    Re: Facelift timeline

We coulod see other new pics guys??

    993 also came out with a turbo body - as a 993C2S & a 993C4S.

They also offered turbo bodies on the 930 - even cab's and Targa's. So it wasn't a new concept

    Re: Facelift timeline

You forgot the 964 Turbo body (C4 coupé, C2 cab, and Speedster)!

AFAIK the Carrera 3.2 was the only one to offer the Turbo-Look option on all models. The 964, 993 and 996 TL were only available in a few configurations.

    Re: Facelift timeline

Great looking pictures even with camera phone.

    Re: Facelift timeline

not sure if this is right, but I touched up the front bumper a bit..

    Re: Facelift timeline

    I like these led lights

Re: HOT: Pictures from Facelift 997!!!!

I dont like the back. The new tail lights look like they are frowning.

    Re: Facelift timeline

These pictures are the clearest so far. Definitely an improvement on the 911 theme. I hope the internals are improved too.

    Re: Facelift timeline

    It works,
    evolution not revolution.

Now if they could bring all the gizmos to the TT...

    Re: Facelift timeline

The new look is amazing..altro che cazzi.....vero Andrea?

    Re: Facelift timeline

WHERE THE HELL IS THE BACK RED STRIP.....ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....lolol

    Re: Facelift timeline

I have to admit that I like the back, even though the lights are very much Audi A6 lookalikes. However, the front and especially the headlights don't do it for me at all.

    Re: Facelift timeline

Did you notice that in those last 3 pics, the rear side mirrors are the small ones again.. Hope they' ll stay !!

I think it won't fit any more, because of the LED-design.;m

I never really noticed, that the mirrors should be bigger? I only saw one pic that seemed to show a little design-change of the rear side-mirrors.

    @ all:
Who has more facelift pics? PLEASE POST THEM!

    Greetings

    Re: Facelift timeline

I had actually those in mind... seen on the Cayman and Boxster and as the whole range generally gets the same mirrors.....

Sorry guys, but the newly designed foglights/indicators with their sloping edges give the front a rather sad look. Totally different than the rising edges of the current version. That new shape doesn't look good at all. Got what I mean?

Reminds me of something, seems as if such styling is relatively popular in Germany for the time being...

I have to agree. Maybe Porsche tries to give the facelift a more "mean" look, as some judged the 997 MK I front as too "cute" (personally I prefer the "friendly" look).
You shouldn't have posted Mrs. Merkel's pic - I'm afraid that from now on her face is coming to my mind everytime I'll see a 997 facelift
Though at least the "sad look" is not an all German phenomenum: the BMW 5 series facelift front has abolished the hanging edges

@ Gnil: I'm afraid even the 911 can't escape these monstrous new EU rules regarding the mirrors

Yeah I admit, that was a rather mean move from me...

You can do penance for your sin by posting a pic of a nice face (probably not a politician)...

Thanks for the pic and for the link, ed_moree!

The red PS is not so good, but it depends also a bit on the color.

Here is another black "banshee"-pics (sorry, if I did a repost!).

    Greetings
