    997 RS Update!!

    Just got off the phone with my P-dealer regarding the 997 RS. I will get one of three cars to be built in October that he will be allocated! I am so pleased!!!

    I will spec the car on Monday afternoon. He confirmed that Sweden will get around 20 cars in total. The next build slot after October is February. He also confirmed again that an unofficial 'Ring time of 07:34. I know this sounds too fast to be true. Maybe it isn't true. I don't care. I just know that the next months are going to be agonizing!!!!

    How many months in a year can you drive that in Sweden? I say you buy one and leave it here with me in Australia instead where it can be driven 365 days a year.

    997RS? Are you talking about the GT3RS?

    Hmmm. Tempting, but no.

    April-November is fine. And maybe some driving in Southern Europe in the months in between!!

    I did order mine weeks ago, earlier dely Oct/latest (can we say so?) March 2007. Dealer says only 28 cars for Switzerland but I m very reluctant to believe final number will be so restricted. Any official information abt total cars available worldwide over entire production period?

    If Sweden is getting around 20 cars then I think 28 for Switzerland sounds about right. 20 cars in Sweden is also consistent with the number of 996 RS that were sold.

    Probaly way more IMO. There are more P cars in Switzerland per square kilometer than lamp posts.

    HI JFT,

    what do you mean specing the car. As a proforma order upfront, so that you secure your position with your dealers allocation?
    The 997(GT3)RS is not yet on the dealerordersystem, isn't it?
    So it is not a "real" order to the factory?

    My position is already secured via a downpayment. The dealer thought his ordering system would be up and running on Monday. He tried using it this week, but it charged for CF buckets that it shouldn't do. We'll see. If it's not up and running I speculate we will spec the car using the orderguide and that he will input vs. the factory whenever possible.

    Throttlesteerer, the RS is dispayed at dealerorder system, I have been waiting two weeks since I had a 'gentlemen agreement'' with them; tafter I got their call to specify details became available in the meantime(including price). I now lokk forward to receiving date of production.
