I used Meguiar's Deep Crystal Car wash using the two bucket method. The two bucket method uses two five gallon buckets with grit guards at the bottom of the bucket. One bucket is clean water and the second bucket has the soap. I used a lambskin mitt. The wheels are washed first and then you start at the top of the car and work you way down. The soap is rinsed after each panel is washed.

Meguiar's Dual Action Cleaner/ Polish #83 http://meguiars.com/?pro-cleaner-polishs/Body-Shop-Professional-Dual-Action-Cleaner-Polish was applied using a dual action buffer.

The next morning Meguiar's #80 Speed Glaze http://meguiars.com/?pro-cleaner-polishs/Speed-Glaze was applied followed by two coats of Meguiar's #26 Yellow Wax http://meguiars.com/?pro-liquid-car-waxes/Hi-Tech-Yellow-Wax.

Looks good, my midnight blue 05 had some swirling after a year, but not nearly that bad. It looks like your friend frequented drive-through car washes followed by crew-drying with dirty towels. Those dark colors look great but are high-maintenance.
Your friend must have been ecstatic. Hopefully your story had a "happy ending".

I have 2 hopes for you:
a) I hope she's HOT!
b) With all the work you've put into this car, I hope that the PAYBACK from her is just as nice...
Otherwise, you're just the "sucker male friend" where she gets "boyfriend benefits" without actually giving "girlfriend benefits"...
But if those swirl marks from the 1st pic are actually gone, either way, what a spectacular job on the car!

vtrader, kudos and remarkable job. Never ever seen a makeover that was done so well. How did she really do it in the first place? Was it a 2005? It would be hard for me to fathom how she would have had it done to that degree in terms of spider webbing her car. I now feel that my canvas top is wearing a bit (4 months only...) from all the folding and I haven't done anything to condition it. I find the canvas top to have 5 or 6 threadheads coming up. Any input on how to fix those? Was thinking about nibbing out using a nailclipper but maybe better left untouched. Your inputs would be great.
