I...love...this...car
Since I had the day off I took the opportunity to take version 2.0 out for it's first day of exercise. Started going over Hwy 84 from Woodside to the Hwy 1. I then headed south along the coast. I first stopped at Pescadaro picking up a fresh loaf of bread from the bakery as well as some smoked cheddar and dry salami to take home. I then continued south stopping at both the lighthouse, and then Ano Nuevo State Park. It was such a nice day I decided to take a hike out to see the elephant seals. A little further south to Davenport where I stopped for lunch before moving on to the really enjoyable portion of the day.
After leaving Davenport I headed just a little further south before turning off onto the smaller windy roads. Two lane roads with lots of twists turns and elevation changes. Eventually I worked my way back to Hwy 9 and into the town of Boulder Creek. These are the dream roads for a 987S. One curve to the next, just nothing but the feeling of pure balance and control. And this is while staying within the parameters called for during the break in. You really do just seem to glide effortlessly when behind the wheel. This truly is driving nirvana. I'll sacrifice the straight line speed of a 997, or most other cars, for this absolute balance.
After leaving Boulder Creek I continued back on Hwy 9 until I got to Skyline Blvd. A turn to the north and headed back for Hwy 84. Once I got back to Hwy 84 it was a turn back to the east, down the hill, and back down into civilization. In all I covered over 100 miles, 160 kilometers for you metric folks, of some of the most scenic, twisty roads anywhere. We here in the Bay Area are truly fortunate to have these great roads in our back yard.
Oh, and thanks for letting me share.
