Common element: FLORIDA. It seems too easy. I think it's time that the police got involved in a sting operation. Time of day? Parking placement? You should cite the location so others in Florida can AVOID that store,--and let the STORE know that you're doing this. they have to improve security.

Are they that easy to pop out? Any damage to the fenders?

It happened at the Publix on Brickell Avenue @ 7:50pm. That is a very good part of town, but I should have parked more strategic (maybe backed up into the parking space with the front of the car pointing towards the exit doors). I went in for five minutes and by the time I got back they were gone. When I turned on my car I noticed a warning in the display under the tach "head light leveling malfunction". I thought jeeze my car is giving me problems at such an early stage, but I was wrong!!!! I believe each lights cost about $1100.00each. Last night I couldn't see any other damage. It appears as if they just popped them out, but I will look closer now in the daytime. Guys thanks again for your support and keep those lights in sight!

I was told it's a "classic" in South Florida and especially in Miami.
I know some people it happened to but it was on 996s when litronic lights were relatively rare and a very expensive option.
Thank god it never happened to me during my time in Boca Raton ...
No sweat your headlamps won't show-up on ebay ... they will be fitted on a car in Miami OR they are already on their way to Latin America ...

Yes apparently.
The 996 and 986 were BIG problems also. I don't know where but I heard Porsche fixed the problem with the 997. Evidentally they did not.
We should really blame the $%^#@ who "upgrades" his lights by buying stolen xenon headlights. Seems to be a big market for this kind of slime. THEY are the bigger AH.

Anyway, sorry for your bad experience. That's really terrible.
This has been a problem, particularly in South Florida for quite some time....the bulbs and electronics end up in "rice burners", not on E-Bay. I've heard of people having this happen more than once to the same car.
I also think you might want the lights to come out easily...I've heard of cases where the the lights were pried out and the fender all around the light was damaged. Better to replace the lights and not have to spend $1000's repairing the fender.

I hate low life people that have to steal to get something in life.... I am sooooo sorry Rhino, makes you feel paranoid, and I NOW and always feel justified at all the growling I do when strangers are around my car..
PORSCHE needs to make an alarm system that wraps around the car..So when you put it on and someone goes within that 'ray' of light they get executed and their body stays on the ground by your car only for identification purposes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yowza! BTW, if anyone has a high deductible insurance they should think of lowering it for this reason.
Also, what kind of preventative fix is there for this? There has to be a way to foil the attempt to easily remove theses lights?????

Clearly Porsche can do that. All it takes is for them to build in a wiring loom that routes itself through the back of the lamps. When they are drawn out as they are being stolen the circuit would fail and 40,000 volts would be sent to the body in the area of the front fenders. Suggest eveyone park on water puddles to make them even more effective. This is not that hard,--but I do blame Porsche for making something that expensive that easy to remove. You might as well not even lock the car.
If Porsche doesn't do something edffective soon they can essentially write off future sales in that part of the USA.

I am speechless. 
My neighbor owned a 997S and had to get rid of it because his lights were stolen more than once. Not to mention, they stole the headlamps off of my grandmother's Lincoln Continental! It doesn't even have xenons!!!!!!!! 
Anyways, best of luck to you, and I hope those A-holes get caught.
