Advice needed: car scratched whilst in Paris
I was in Paris this week on holiday and parked outside my hotel literally for 5 minutes whilst unloading luggage when a delivery van scraped the back of my car.
I got photocopies of the driver's insurance details, driving licence and another piece of paper (I don't know what it is but copied it all the same) and he admitted doing the damage. For extra insurance, I took a photo of the van and its proximity to my car.
Anyway, apart from this being SO annoying - this is the first scratch in 19 months and 16,000 miles - does anybody have experience of chasing people in different countries to pay for such damage? My plan is to go to my local bodyshop in London and get a quote for the damage, and then send a copy of this quote to the van driver's employers.
Any thoughts on how successful this approach will be?
Any help very much appreciated!
Cheers,
Ed
