Great - I've ordered my car (a MY2007 997C2S) and even before I've taken delivery (hopefully in Sept 2006), there is already speculation about how soon it will be obsolete.
I actually prefer the design of the current 997S. All I am annoyed at (if these rumours are true) are the fact that Bluetooth won't be here till MY2008 and that there is a 20bhp power increase which I won't get.
Is 355bhp enough power for me? Yes - but can you ever have too much of a good thing?
As with everything else man-made, obsolescence is built in. The alarming thing is how fast this happens nowadays. Still can't believe it - even before I take delivery. That really sucks.

Just don't bother. There's always the next new car.
So is this a Mk2 997 OR is this a 998 or am i getting WAY to ahead of my self? Its alittle odd them releasing this in 08 and showing the jow public it when the new turbo is really only just come out and it looks like the current 997, What are porsche upto lol?
cause the 996Turbo already was faclifted. (new lights). If the 997 really gets CGT like lights, and LED in the back, why should the turbo don't. Really very strange. Shur it wouldnt make sene, but maybe this car is testing some components for the Panamera? Or really already for the 998.
This is hardly a new designated model. At best it is a 997.2. I wouldn't worry the LEAST bit over these minute changes. This does not make the current 997 obsolete, at all. They are merely freshing up a few things that many of us have asked for. No a 998 it is not!!!
The current rear tail lights look just perfect to me, and as for the front, I can't tell any difference. extra 20hp (rumoured) would be nice though but wait... there's probably going to be a price hike.
