Project 4-door sedan

This is the specifications that I think the future Porsche sedan model should have.

Top version.

1800-1900 kg
DSG /Gearbox
PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management)
PSM
PTM (Porsche Traction Management)
4-wheel drive
520-550 hp / 730-800 Nm

Price. Euro 98.000 ( incl 16% MwSt )

it'd be nice...however

Even during the four-door Porsche design study I attended the TOP HP figure that they gave us as an option was 500 HP Bi-turbo.

...and the price tag I think will come in at about $115-120K US for such a vehicle. (mean average of the prices we were given)

Sounds like a nice car to me ....

A price tag over Euro or $ 100,000 is a bit too much I believe if they really want to sell 30-35,000 units a year ....

Obviously Porsche's "comfort" zone is more in the Euro or $ 70-80,000 zone rather than over 100k....

When we see what they can achieve on the track with a truck I'm sure they'll do great with a 4 door salon.... that would "only" weight 1.8-1.9 tons.

they'll also have a vehicle in that price range as well that will probably get 340-360 HP.

My hope is that they make it attractive and distinct enough that it won't cannibalize their existing markets. It must also out-perform the "other" luxury German automakers. Therefore even if it is under-powered I hope this thing is not a pig.

I'd like to see a model with 1500kg weight, 400hp NA V8, RWD, 6spd manual (DSC could be an option) and fantastic handling and feedback (unique to 4-door sedan). We have plenty of heavy, powerful cars already (like MB, Audi and BMW)

My guess is the approach Porsche will take is to offer a sedan much like that of the BMW 5-series and/or MB E-class, and then offer a higher performance TT model (ala M5/E55) for those wanting to hit the $100K+ mark.

This is really the only way they could sell large #s of units.

Let's see if I am right in several months.

It was a design study sponsored by Porsche...

here in Southern California (held in Long Beach).

Remember...this is where I saw the images that had similarities to the Z3 M-Coupe (but not as ugly).

Like I said then... no sporting vehicle should ever look like a station wagon.

RS6 avant was one of my favorites too!!!! Had it have come stateside I for sure would have bought one!!!!

I have been smelling this all along, Audi will probably give them something like a short wheelsbase A8 chassis, or maybe even an all aluminum version of the new C6(no, not the new corvette butthe new A6) chassis.

I also still think that Audi had a lot to do with the Cayenne's TT V-8.

Should be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out.

I can't help but imagine something that looks a lot like the Benz CLS coming from Porsche wanting to make a sedan.
