    Re: Porsche and bikes

    Nice rack

    Re: Porsche and bikes

Looking good! I love it when people actually use their cars, or make use of their versatility

    Re: Porsche and bikes

Very cool! thats what a Porsche is all about, laps the ring under 9min, provides a real sportcar experience, yet you can use it for everything and be able to enjoy it everywere

    Re: Porsche and bikes

    Matching color scheme as well
I have not seen anyone mount their bikes on a Ferrari.

    Re: Porsche and bikes

Nice job. I was tempted to put a rack on mine for my surfboards. Instead I just tilted the passenger seat back and stuffed it inside. People would always comment when I had a childseat in the back of my car. They were surprised to see that I actually used my Porsche like a normal car.

    Re: Porsche and bikes

i am pleased that porsche people are so positive about this.
it's make my day to hear this. thx
I want to use my porsche everything, also for bikes, also for a trip snwbrdng to the french alps.
why not, it is possible and i showed in real.

    Re: Porsche and bikes

ABout to get a baby seat for my 996 Targa as well.

Are you kidding? "IMO" real sportcar enthusiasts cannot drive anything other than a sportcar and feel miserable driving anything else, so they go out of their way to use the sportcar when ever they can, everywere they can, and only drive the "other car" when they absolutely must. As opposed to those that have a sportcar in the garage for a drive/cruise under the sun every other weekend, while most of their driving they preffer to do it in a confi Merc ... to me at least, the type of use that the driver makes of the sportcar tells me more than anything else!!

I couldn't agree more Carlos. Last weekend was a perfect example for me. I wanted to take the 996 to the cabin vs. a Jetta, but my wife wanted to take her golden retriever along, well, I got a sheet put it down in the back and let the dog ride in the back. I don't know if that's a real common thing for us 911 people, but I know that was a first for me. I'll do about anything to go everywhere in the 911 rather than take the "family car."

    Re: Porsche and bikes

Sorry lads but I cant agree . When you got a family the best of both worlds ( eg:Cayenne + 911 ) is a must in my opinion , you need one for the family outings and the other to satisfy your sporting needs . Just my opinion , but its the right one...

    throt....

    Re: Porsche and bikes

Eh..., I used to think "versatility." Now I think bikes should be strapped onto the SUV.

It looks like a slightly ridiculous attention-getter. It looks like an accident waiting to happen. IOW, one mis-step in placing the bikes and your nice US$80-90K car has got a fricking dent and scratch on the roofline. What _worse_ stuff happens if you have to slam on the brakes?

Just IMHO, I wish you 100% accident-free use of the bike rack.

    Re: Porsche and bikes

    Very nice.....

    Re: Porsche and bikes

I have only one car .... and i drive 16 k every year, (no kids)
it is crazy to buy another car for a few times a year i go cycling far from here,
so i choose to take the bikes on top .
It is all made by porsche so why not.
