I almost bouth an Espada 5 years back. Today I bight my ass that I didn't do. The car has the Miura engine, so most of the Espadas are becoming a spare part car for the Miura. The price went sky rocket in the last 5 years.

Yeah - I did see that video.

I was 5 years ago in London and stayed at the Sanderson Hotel as a guy was parking in front of it in a grey Espada. That was the moment when the car got my attention. It is so awkward that it is just beautiful. Super flat, super spacious - I really felt in love to that car. So I went for the hunt and those days there have been 3 cars available in Germany. One was only 30k and not even in that a bad of a condition but the engine needed and overhaul. The other two have been 60k and being really quiet good. Today similar cars are going for 150-200k€. So again. I basically stepped away as one of the owners told me that those cars are horrendously unreliable. They might start one morning and the day after you have to re-adjust the carburetors. Also he said that after ever 2500km the engine would need to be removed for a overhaul. Today I know that this was way too exaggerated, nevertheless I got cold feets and stepped away.

I think you sent me an email asking me what I think about it, right? Wonderful car indeed but who could have known that prices go that up? I think I told you to get one but not because of possible price increases but the coolness factor.

Yeah - we did discuss this those days. I really been into this car. It was also the time when we got our 356 Speedster, so it would have been in parallel. And seeing that simplicity in the Porsche compared to the complexity of the Lamob (just that armada or carburators shocked me and I kind of believed that guy when telling me that the car is hard to maintain. Still - I regret as I still adore the crazy look of this car.

Cannot focus too much on regrets. I bought a 1974 Carrera RS 3.0 liter brand-new and sold it three years later for $25,000. That same  car of mine, several owners later, recently sold at auction for 1.4 million. yes

You must mix something up. I didn't test ride that Espada. The car I really HATED after the testride was the 280 SL Pagode. That car was behaving like a truck. The most unsexy Roadster I ever steered. It was even worse and "bigger" behaving than my 300S Adenauer from 1953

I found this imagine in a German magazine. It's an advert for MHP, a Porsche Consulting firm.

Now, it may be just a random pic, but this looks like a future 911 interior with full digital display, hybrid tech and the start button left to the steering wheel. So I thought I share this here.

This article has been originally posted in March 2017 and they just added the digital dash stuff and a bit more information. Not sure what they meant by that but as far as I know, the upcoming 992, the next gen R8 (if it comes...), the Huracan/Aventador and the 960 will all use the MMB platform. I cannot exclude that the 991 is based on an early variant of the MMB platform but to be honest, I don't have a clue (never asked, never cared).
