Worn Mats

After 6000 miles the driver's side floor mat is worn through - have any other UK owners experienced the same problem with the OPC supplied mats?

No, I simply keep spilling coffee and other indelible liquids on them before they wear out. Now I have midnight blue after market mats which show no stains.

I've got 8,500 miles, and ZERO wear. Mats are as-new. But I'm primarily wearing sneakers or flip flops. Is it more the dress-shoe-wearing-office-suit set that's having this issue??

I should have added that I've seen no wear in the carpets, just stains.

I have no stains on my mat -- I scrub out fresh stains with Mothers Carpet Upholstery cleaner (works extremely well) and then top it off with Meguiar's Carpet Deodorizer.

I do have what seems like an indent of where my heel would be on the carpet by the pedals. No scrubbing, washing, or vacuuming seems to fix it. Could very well be the dress shoes. I can't see indents like that coming from sneakers or driving shoes.

The shoes are certainly a factor. Another factor is how clean you keep your mats on a regular basis. Dirt in/on the mat creates an abrasive, and your heel becomes a weapon, and the dirt is the ammunition.

Clean mats, soft rounded-heel shoes, no wear.

they are about $115 to purchase new.
well, thats if you cant get the stains out, or damaged by shoes etc..Looks nice to have nice mats, stained or crappy takes that clean interior look away..

Ian C ,I had my mats replaced under warranty for the exact same problem

I think the mats supplied by the OPCs are not great quality.

I have the same problem, a hole worn thru at about 10,000 miles. I was told that it is not a warranty item. Pretty poor for a set of $115 floor mats!!!!!

Thanks Robbo - might keep that info for ammunition if I have a problem with the OPC. Never had them wear out in the past and what makes it worse is that this was the first time I was charged for them!

I've got a new set socked away in my closet. I'll never use them, I've just "got them", just in case I keep the car for a long long time.

16700 miles of 13's and no signs of wear. No dress shoes though.

If you have power seats, tilt the seat base all the way back and see if that helps.

guess i'll probably get kicked out of the purists club, but oh well. i just received the palm fiber co. coco mats i ordered for my tt last mo. perfect fit, nice and heavy duty,real quality construction from a small car guy operation. just as i rembembered from a set for a boxster...these guys will stand up to use in a dumptruck..125 bucks

I've had my aftermarket set for 40,000 miles now. They're dark blue (to match my Lapis car) and show no appreciable wear. No dress shoes.

Only vacumn the interior occassionally.
