Ought to be lighter than that. The front wheel drive alone should save almost the 50kg, let alone the standard fitment of lighter seats etc.
The UK Turbo has Bose and Sunroof as standard as well, so for the UK I'd think it would be at least 100kg saving, as per the 996.

By then, Audi could launch a 520 horsepower R8. Or maybe even the twin-turbo version with 600 horsepower. Not to mention the 550 horsepower Gallardo. You shouldn't burden yourself so much with such trivialities. What difference does it make to you whether it's a Porsche, an Audi or a Lambo?

Any word on release date ? I still have some time to upgrade my order from turbo to GT2

- Does the GT2 lose the Navi screen ?
- Sunroof Optional ? I prefer hardtop
- Sport Chrono ? anyway to delete the 1948 analog clock ?
- VTG Technology with bigger turbos ?

The release date based on AutoBild is Spring 2008 (I still assume that the car will be relased by mid 2007).
Rgarding your other points I would assume the following:
- Navi availability - yes
- Sunroof - good question (probably not, and if available I would not order it anyhow...)
- SC - most likely they will offer some switch between sporty and very sporty (like in the new GT3)
- VTG - yes.

However, I would love to see the GT2's specs before deciding on a new sports car

0-60 times are such a poor indicator of acceleration imo. 0-100, 20-100 and beyond, are much more indicative of a vehicle's capabilities.

I absolutely agree and thats what I had said in my past posts if you happen to fall upon them, but then again, just pure science is also something and we are talking about 0-60 times in this GT2 vs CGT and looking at the numbers it makes no sense that it would be able to out accelerate the CGT from 0-60 as well..in CGT the car could do 3.5ish i beleive..

I'm sure they were wrong. In the past Porsche released spy pics normally a half year before introduction. I don't think that Porsche present the car in Paris. I think they will wait till Detroit or Genf. Why? They will show the Targa and the RS in Paris. For Detroit i expect the Cayenne facelift and for Genf the GT2 and the turbo convertible.

hehehe , im just kidding ... but the main reason is that the PSM is not working on my car , cuz of some problems on my abs system "its a matter of two small wires 
) ..
by the way , in middle east its realy perfectly straight ... before one hour i was driving my car on the high way to test some thing , realy i said ( thanx god for this roads , smooooooth , staaaaaight , caaaaaaalm roads ,,, around 100 km distance at 2:00 am , you will only see 20 to 30 cars only ...
finaly , PSM is an impossible for other companies like ferrari or lambo ..etc
