    Porsche Prototype Pics

    Does anyone have a pic of the Boxster Prototype? I remember it being much nicer than the actual one, especially the interior.

    Im also interested in prototype design pics for the 996 - the ones before they picked the final design.

    I know flat-6.net has some, but does anyone know where on the web I can find them, if at all?

    I have often wondered if Porsche made a mistake by unveiling the Boxster concept car, because it raised unrealistic expectations for the production car.

    On the other hand, it also made the Boxster one of the most anticipated cars in history, so I can see the argument both ways.

    it wasn't really a "prototype" at all, because the production version was never going to look like the concept ... the concept car didn't even have an engine.

    Notice that since the Boxster, Porsche has introduced two other major new models -- the 996 and the Cayenne -- without doing concept cars. It will be interesting to see if they do a conept car for the 4-door sedan ...?

    the 996 is not a new model, it's just an evolution of the previous 911
    There was no 993 concept. Nor a 964, Carrera, SC, S, etc one

    I think they won't have any 4th model concept, similarly to the cayenne, but i'm too tired to be able to say why
